Nov 8 - I HATE to admit it but I love beating August to the post

Morning all. Te-hee, I hope that I beat August here this morning. :)

I have to share this funny story with you all. Last night I was all gung ho to do Low Impact Circuit. I got changed, all ready to workout, went down the basement, turned on the TV and pressed play on the DVD player. I had the Low Impact DVD case right in front of me so I could see what this was all about. Well, first off, I thought the workout was like 70 minutes long but in the warm up she said something like are you ready for the next 90 minutes???? I was like, OK, I guess I'm wrong. The warm up was OK and then the step portion was horrible - all that fancy footwork that I cannot do. I'm like, this SUCKS, I am cardio challenged which is why I am here in the first place but I was still anxious for what was in the DVD. So here I am waiting for the blast which was supposed to be next but another cardio portion started. I'm like, OK, what is up? But still carried on. Then a 3rd cardio was coming on and I"m like, WHAT?????? Then came blast number 1 and I''m so darn confused, hating all this cardio. Where the heck are the weigts I am asking myself?????? Did I accidentally choose a cardio only premix even though I wasn't in the premixes? My DVD was freezing up too. So I'm really hating LIC. I hit next on my DVD and then she starts doing something that I already did but since I never did LIC, it couldn't be. It was the drills from DrillMax. Then it hit me!!!! This wasn't LIC it was something else, somthing EVIL. I open the DVD player and it was CARDIO FUSION - arrhhh!!!!!! You see, I put cardio fusion in the DVD player last week b/c I was going to try it out one morning but never got to it. I assumed that I had put LIC in the DVD player before not remembering it was actually CF. So, I cannot really say now that I HATE CF because I was anticipating LIC. But if I was planning on doing CF and was prepared for cardio, I might like it. But no way would I EVER like a 90 min cardio workout, no way, no how. I would have to choose a premix.

Well, that is my story for the day. Guess I better get ready for work.

Oh Dana, you are silly! I just got my pre-orders (not like I can 100% do them right now, but I could not pass up on Butts and Guts). So, I popped them in last night and was like WOW....this is going to hurt!
I think with cardio you have to go to the yoga thread and try to "find the cardio" in yourself and then you can do it. Maybe a few headstands...heheheeeee:p :p :p :p :p

Today is my DD's b-day so we are all taking the day off to celebrate with her! My boss is not going to be happy, but oh well, you only get a 1st b-day once!

I have major DOMS from yesterday, I have become such a wimp!...but am still sticking to it. Today is an old lady walk for me on the treadmill for about 20 mins. I keep trying to add a little more in every day I walk and see if the knee swells up.

So, with that said, I could not go run braless after the sweet potato man, like August...I still need to figure that story out.

I am going to run to hop on the dreadmill, but I will be back at some point today.

Janjan!! I'm wishing your DD a very Happy 1st Birthday and I hope you'll post a picture of her all covered in cake goo :+ :7 . I have B&G on my rotation for Saturday and I'm looking forward to that one. I know it will be hard but I don't mind LB workouts. I'm still sore from the firewalkers in Drill Max:eek: . I'm sorry I wasn't around much yesterday. I had a busy day and couldn't get back here. I'm going out of town for a few days--I'm leaving Sunday and coming back Tuesday. A close relative of DH passed away (I may have already mentioned that) and we're going to the funeral in Oklahoma. Anyway, I'll be kind of busy these next few days so you may not see me around here quite as much.

Hi haters,

I'm a bit droopy today, not much bounce in my cardio. I did LIC in full, though I felt tired as I'd done Cardio Coach #4 on my bike last night. Now that was a sweatfest, even with the fan on me. Sean is sooo motivating. I love the Coach's notes in this one at the end. Almost brings a tear to my eyes.

Michelle, did you get your eliptical workout in yesterday? Boy, I could have definitely had a rest today. Think I'll come home and take a nap after work. Sounds good right now, something to look forward to. Hope your trip goes well this weekend. Only good thing about funerals is seeing all your friends and relatives.

Jan, hope the treadmill workout is good. Do you listen to something while you are on it? I would go nuts without something to listen to. Butts and Guts is still living on in my lower body and I did it on Saturday. It's a goodie. I'll probably be breaking it down to make it more usable for me.

Dana, I did Cardio Fusion - the 48 minute all step and it was fun, not too tough either. That's funny that you were thinking one and doing another. After a while, you won't get fooled again, I'm sure. LOL

August, where are you? Did you run off with the nice older gentlemen driving the sweet potato truck? Hope you are okay. I had a sweet potato last night before my Cardio Coach workout. I was dreaming of nice dark orange, smooshy insides, slow cooked over rocks. Instead what I got was a microwaved, more the texture of a baked russet, anemic yellow, but with the skin on. I put Promise spread on it and (gasp) Splenda. If I'd had some raisins, those would have been on there too. I ate the miniature marshmallows the other day so there were none of those left in the house. Have to buy more for my beloved Sweet Potato Casserole for Thanksgiving.

Jeanette--I'm so glad you enjoyed your Cardio Coach workout. I LOVE cardio coach and find it very motivating, not to mention coach Sean has a dreamy voice:+ . Oh yes, I did my elliptical workout last night while watching election returns. I think you and I posted in the rotation thread at the same time last night.

I had sweet potatoes last night, too:7 . I diced up a sweet potato and tossed it in EVOO along with some cauliflower and broccoli and then roasted it in the oven:9 . I think August has started something with all this sweet potato talk.

Lora, I'll bet August is out of town. She travels a lot and often doesn't have the opportunity to post while on the road. I'm sure she'll be back and posting again in no time:)

Okay, I HAVE to run. I just wanted to assure Jeanette that I did my elliptical workout last night, AND a segment from Stretch Max.

ETA that I STILL have some DOMS from Monday's Drill Max workout:eek: ;( .

Dana - That is such a funny story. It would suck to be waiting and waiting for a break from the cardio, and it just never ends!! You have to know in advance that all cardio is on the schedule to psych yourself up.

Jana - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARLEY!!!!! :+ Give her a big hug and kiss for me. :)

Michele - How was Drill Max?? I am excited and scared about that one at the same time. I am excited that it is supposed to have functionally fitness exercises, but scared of all the jumping. How were the functional fitness exercises??? You must watch Rachel Ray with all this "EVOO" talk. :D

August - Where are you? Usually by this point there are tons of August posts??? Hope you caught the sweet potato man.

Well, I got home late last night from work. Work has just been so crazy lately. Since I got home really late, I went to bed late, so I didn't even set the alarm to get up early this morning because I knew I needed some sleep to fight off this cold. Today I have a 20 min run and bonus abs from B&G on tap, so hopefully I will get home in time to do that this evening. There is a prayer meeting for my boss's wife after work that I may go to, so I may not get home in time. If not, then I will have to do my push ups and get scolded tomorrow!!! But I should at least have time for a 20 min run.

Dana - I was so happy to see it was you who started today's post! And LMAO at your Cardio Hel!!! Too funny! It's like when you're expecting to drink soda and you drink milk instead, but way worse because we're talking ENDLESS cardio! OMG!! NEVER!

Jana - So good to see you! You started up Gym style? Good for you! Oh, oh, I totally want to be able to do a headstand. Do I need to like, develop muscles in my neck first? HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your DD! How wonderful to be spending it bringing in her very first birthday. Congratulations!

Michele - So, how's the hair? And you had to go and mention cake goo, didn't you. Cake Goo. Raw Cake Goo. That's almost as good as Raw Brownie Mix Goo. Nope, no sweet potato man yet. I'm working at home tomorrow so I'm going to keep my ears open and my bra on. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you and your DH will be able to make it to Oklahoma for the funeral. I hope you have a peaceful trip. Oh, and good for you for having DOMS! Oh, and eating sweet potatoes! Haha.

Diane - Gee, I can't imagine buying a bunch of DVDs and then buying a bunch more DVDs even before you've used the first bunch...unless they're Christi....or yoga. Heh. I wonder if most people do this or if it's just you, me and Michele. Sounds like you're keeping up with your rotation, so no scowling here! Oh, and I like those boots! Have a great run, and I hope your cold gets better soon.

Jeanette - OoooOooh, that casserole sounds REALLY yummy. LMAO about you always making way more than can be finished off in the meal! And the marshmallows...my mom used to make that kind of a yam dish for Thanksgiving when I was little...the marshmallows kind of brown and get that slightly crystallized consistency OooOoOOooOOo! Sweet Potato Man Project X was that I was dressed and ready with my wallet for his appearance, but you know how bread doesn't toast if you watch it in the toaster? Well, the Sweet Potato Man doesn't come out of hiding if you're ready for him. So I'll have to think of another approach. I might try to catch him tomorrow. Although come to think of it, my freezer is full to the brim with frozen fish, frozen chicken, frozen berries and frozen barley. Sounds like you made the most of your microwaved sweet potato! Ooh, I'm getting hungry, but it's almost 2am so I'd better resist.

Lora - Oh, Lora, you're sweet to worry if you may have offended me! I can't imagine why you'd think that! No, no, of course that's not the case! I've actually already posted this on the yoga thread, but I'll say it again just in case you look here - I'm usually working at home and have my computer connected to my hip, but every now and then I have to put clothing on and go out in the world to work, and when I do, I'm often out the en----tire day. And like Michele mentioned, I'm out of town quite a bit, too. Anyway, it's nice to know I'm missed! And I apologize for alarming you!


Okay, so what did I do for my workout before running my butt out the door? In my rotation I had written PYRAMID TOTAL BODY PREMIX, so I put in my Pyramid and was like, where the heck is a total body premix?

Where the heck is a total body premix on the Pyramids?! I only saw a premix for upper OR lower. So confused!

So instead I decided to do something totally different : I did something called willPower & Grace. Have you guys heard of this? I did it once in Oregon and it gave me MONGO butt DOMS. And well, tonight I also have MONGO butt DOMS. This workout is tough for me (lots of squats and bouncing squats) and because of that, it has some dread factor. But I get such great DOMS from it, it must be doing some awesome things...so I guess I'll do this one again when my rotation calls for the total body Pyramid premix, unless someone wants to clue me in?...anyone? Anyone? This is supposed to be my sub for the TLT core one I don't have.

Oh man, it's past 2am already and I haven't brushed my teeth. I'm off to brush my teeth!

Alright ladies, I once again need your fashion advice. We have a formal Christmas, excuse me... "Holiday" Party every year with the firm and I have to buy a formal dress. The party is a little more than a month away, but last year I bought a dress from bluefly.com way too late that didn't fit well so I ended up having a dress that was way too big for me and looked horrible. So this year I am starting earlier. What do you think about these?

ETA: It is hard to find a dress that is stylish...but not too formal because the young associates don't dress TOO formal...but not too sexy because it is a work function.
 
I'm just passing through in between errands and I don't have much time. I really shouldn't risk a butt glue problem today but I wanted to tell you, Diane, that I love both dresses! If I had to choose between them I'd go with the black dress because I love the detailing on the bodice. Why don't you order both and return the one you don't want? With your coloring you'll look fantastic in either one.

Drill Max--be afraid, very, very afraid--lol! I thought it was really hard and I had to modify much of it. I tried to do some of each exercise but I had to lower the impact. I was exhausted afterward and slept like a baby that night. My knees were sore the next day, too, and I wonder if I didn't modify enough. Bear in mind that I'm a little arthritic and old enough to be your mother so this may not be as tough for you.

August, I'm so happy you're back. Now, put you game face on and get ready to tackle the sweet potato man--lol! I'm glad you have the much coveted DOMS.

I have to go, my friends. I can't get behind--I don't have spare time to make up what I don't get done ;) :*
 
Michele - I am so scared to do DrillMax now! I think I am supposed to do it tomorrow.

I like the dark brown one too, and I think it may be more flattering because the fabric seems a little thicker. Sometimes really light fabric can enhance ever little lump and bump. :-(

August - I'm glad that you posted about Will Power and Grace b/d I saw it in Collage and thought it looked fun but never heard anyone mention it before. Will have to put it on my wish list.

Sorry Diane but you know me and the slow computer, it would take forever for me to see your holiday dress choices. You have great taste so I"m sure that they are all beautiful.
