Hope all have had a good rest over the weekend and Chris hope you had a good weekend at work.
So are we ready to start another week?
Goodness we are already in the 2nd week of November and boy it's just flying! Most if not all of the stores here are all decked out for Christmas season OY! Not sure why it surprises me but boy I'm not ready for that yet and nevermind the shopping - yikes!
So my back still feels a bit twingy but not as bad as Saturday or the 1st part of Sunday.
I was actually able to do The Kettlebell Way + TGUs yesterday afternoon and its weird for me to say but I think swinging the kettlebell actually helped my back? I used all three of my kettlebells and had a good workout and I'm really liking those Turkish Get ups as I keep practicing them.
So today I plan on staying with my plan of cardio and will do Imax2 today since I was out for the count on Saturday for it.
Hi Vilma and all! Happy Monday...... I know what you mean about Christmas.... I have sort of started shopping, but in some ways it was spur of the moment stuff and I haven't really given things enough thought yet. My kids had minimum days at school last week because of teacher conferences and boy I'm not sure I'm ready for the full days again! At least tomorrow there is no school -- sure wish they'd given us today off too for a four day weekend....
Vilma, I totally believe that the swinging helped your back. I have for a long time had a twinge in my left lower back -- it didn't really bother me, I just noticed it, but I worried that as I got older I would have trouble with it. Well, guess what? I'm not really feeling it anymore!! And speaking of swinging.... today I warmed up with 4DS kickbox warmup (I can't stand that they don't do what is a proper warmup for me on the kbell dvds) and then did Lauren's 40 minute. A good workout, but I see I am getting stronger and I don't think she worked me as hard as Tracy did in less time. Maybe a combination of the rests being long and the pace being slower. I did ff through the rests a couple of times. I think 30 sec is more what I need. Then I put 4DS kickbox back in for a stretch -- I also absolutely have to stretch afterward -- that's my old body.... Tracy tells me she never stretches after she swings (but she does do bikram yoga on non-swing days, so that's gotta help). I just have to stretch!
Ok, I'm off.... we have a canadian friend coming to stay with us this week. Next week someone from Texas..... I have no idea what to feed everyone!
Well I managed Imax2 and added some more TGUs using my 15# bell I'm thinking next time I'll try them with my 8kg bell.
Let me tell you I had a really hard time getting my HR up with Imax2 until the 6th section wow. Granted I did burn calories and had a great workout but I was not gasping for air or feeling overwhelmed by it. I'm surprised sincerely surprised.
My back is feeling so much better now I don't even feel any twinge at all now thank goodness!
I do think its swinging the kettlebell and I'm using my 26# for swings too whoa. lol
I think this kettlebell thing is really doing a great deal of good for my body; now if only I can focus on my hunger signals and only eat food when I'm hungry and not just eating to eat I'd be back down to my 'happy size' lol
I usually skip to the next section with both Kettlebell Way and Lauren's until Lauren's last rounds then I take that minute rest lol.
Gots to get outta here so I can eat as now my body is telling me I'm hungry lol
Hi all...I'm sorta having a hectic morning. Trying to cram this super big experiment in and everything was going wrong...something that I have to make fresh each time that I usually get on the first try took me 4x to get it so it screwed up my flow. It's a very mind intensive experiment...lots of time points and varying concentrations so its really easy to make a mistake. I hope it works for the best though....no workout while my uncle is around...but tomorrow definitely Imax2 since I seem to be fighting off the bug pretty well. My DH keeps on telling me its like I had a rest week instead of a day...with a crapton of yummy food.
Vilma -- I hope at one point I can breeze through Imax2 like you! I'll keep on trying.
Beth -- Visitors can be fun but hectic too! I sort of just want to survive the next two weeks and then I feel like I can bring it down a notch...I hope **crosses fingers**
Hello ladies! It's kind of quiet here today. Hope everyone is well.
Wow, Vilma and Beth - you're both big endorsements for kbells! I went to Target last night and they don't seem to sell kettlebells anymore. I'll have to check the sporting goods store nearby.
I did Imax2 Saturday, nothing Sunday and today was Squeeze Stronger.
Checking in quick...This week is Pure strength..Today I did chest, shoulders and triceps. Then I added in the step portion of Kari Anderson's push workout.
I made it through the weekend! Ended up as anxious as I was about finding out about the other nurse's Clinical 3 status, things , as they always do, turned out well. ONE of the other nurses also got rejected, the other passed (one with so much less experience than me, but apparently is talented with "fluff"). Anyhow, it was comforting to have someone else be a "loser" with. She also got me psyched for trying it again! So we're both going to try to "fluff" too!
Work itself was crazy busy (on Saturday we had an RN not show up!), but the patients weren't horribly SICK, so things got done ok.
As for my workout today, I decided on the original IMAX, since I did IMAX2 on Friday. Wasn't sure I'd hve the energy for it on a monday, so I went into it thinking I could do "just" 6 or 7 intervals, and I'd be ok. My aerobic endurance on Mondays really is in the crapper. I'm quite tired. But of course, I start the workout, and feel compelled to finish. Which I did (minus only the 10th blast... I don't like that one! ... hopping to the side on one leg and then fly jacks. I don't like the hopping!). 508 calories! Gone!
Vilma: WTG on IMAX2 and it not being so hard!!! Good to hear your back is better...
Beth: Sounds like you had a good KB workout today! ... Hope you enjoy the time with your friend this week. Are you off from work?
Hottie: oooh rats on the experiment gone crazy! Hope it straightens out. It sounds very frustrating.... Glad you're feeling better and now you know where the zicam is!!!
Joanne: Sounds like you're also getting in goodies! I've read a lot about Squeeze stronger on the forums. Sounds like a great workout!!
Kathy: i'll be doing that one tomorrow. And definitely going to add some cardio too!
off to shower and get supper grub ready!
Oh.. and of course it wouldn't be a Monday without some distressing news that makes me all crazy. Apparently there is big rumor they are going to phase out and close down the elementary school my 2 youngest go to. (It's owned by the college and they're raising the rent , they want the space for college class rooms!!!) I'm distraught about it. We LOVE that school! We know everyone and love all the teachers, principal and VP. It's very upsetting. They're having an info meeting on thursday at the school. But I've been stewing about this all weekend!!!
.......
I hope everyone is doing well today! Today I did DM Premix Cardio and All Upper Body and it was great! I really like DM! I do dread the Drill Max Cardio #3 though, I LOVE #4.
Vilma: I know what you mean, I can’t believe it’s the second week of November. Time is sure flying! I’m glad your back is feeling much better.
Beth: Have a great time with your guests!
Hottie: I hope you have fun with Imax 2 tomorrow! How long is your uncle staying with you?
Joanne: WTG on Squeeze stronger.
Kathy: WTG on your workout today!
Chris: WTG on your workout!! AWESOME calorie burn! That’s so great that you are going to try again with the other nurse. Oh no! I hope that they don’t close your sons’ school. Hopefully everything turns out good and they decide to keep it open. Let us know how it goes.
I’m going to eat some dinner now. I hope you all have a great night!
