NOV 08 Check In for 11/1

Good Morning!!..... "RABBIT RABBIT" (good luck on the 1st day of the month!)

How did everyone do with halloween? I was soooo good all day, and then had a few handfuls of chocolate at the end. I'm ok with it. At least I didn't eat it all day. We had a fun night though. The boys went to so many houses ... and my 13 year old went off with his friends for the first time this year (with their dad chaperoning). Made me very sad not to have him with us, but I realize he's getting older.

So, I looked at the NOV 08 Rotation, and I'm in! I know I said I wanted more cardio, but I did just finish with a higher cardio month, so I'm going to go back to more strength. I haven't done the GS and PS in a while. I'm due!

I'm going to start it on Monday though.

today I'm going to do BC from 4DS and Ab Jam from Turbo Jam series...

Have a good one everyone!

Hi Chris and all to come..

Chris: My kids had a great time. Lauren stayed here and handed out candy. She said it was more fun than going trick or treating. She is going to share the candy Chris got last night. His dad took him around and I stayed here with her...Lots of fun. I too stayed away from it all day and then had 2 snickers and a twix when Chris got home. (they were the minature ones!!) I am in on the November rotation too. I am going to start tomorrow..

Today's workout was a light day in prep for November's rotation tomorrow. I did FIRM scult-ilates. I just got it and was curious to try it out. I liked it. I enjoy piilates now and again...

Lauren is singing in the choir tonight at church. So, we are allexcited here about that. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. The weather is beautiful here!!

Hi All! We had a decent time last night -- I ate one chocolate peanut butter eyeball, and that's it! It didn't taste all that great anyway. But, truth be told, part of why I didn't really want any candy is because as crazy as it sounds, I made chocolate chip cookies yesterday, and you know what happens when I do that. Why, you may ask, in the world did you make cookies on halloween?! Well, our friends invited us to a pre-trick-or-treat dinner/party, and I wanted to bring an appetizer or something, and the hostess said it's really all taken care of, but I planned no desserts because I figured they'd have so many sweets later. So, I couldn't go empty handed and made cookies, and saw that they never even were opened! Hilarious!

Our trick or treating wasn't the best experience. Right away, somehow our kids got away from us. At first I wasn't at all worried, but then I bumped into the group I thought Dylan (my 7 year old) was with, but they hadn't seen him! We're on a street where pretty much everyone knows everyone else (I love where we live!!!), and no one had seen him. I knew Travis, the 9 year old, would be fine and happy just scoring candy, but the more time that went on, the more I worried about Dylan freaking. So, Larry and I finally split up, and Larry found him -- I think at someone's house, but to be honest I never got the full story. I know he was with our very good friends where we had had dinner, but somehow Dylan thought that meant he was to go home with them, and he didn't want to. Poor guy. So he held my hand tight and we went on trick or treating and I had to walk to every door with him. The salt in the wound of the evening was that I had given him a Nike bag that was paper, but it was sort of coated and pretty thick, so I thought it would be fine. Well, it rained enough that the bag ripped and he lost all of his candy! He said he never wants to go trick or treating again. He ended up pretty happy though because we had to stop in at friends to use a bathroom, and that woman took pity on him and gave him a stocked bag of candy. Thank goodness for friends in the right spot! Can't believe I went on and on about all of this.....

ok, the workout talk. I had more zipfizz stuff this morning and that stuff is awesome! I did my trainer's "homework" of kettlebell swings. I am so so so fried!! I could barely hold onto the bell at the end of it, Vilma! But, at the end I did end up doing about 3 or 4 sets of 20 deadlifts and squats -- just felt like I could keep going forever!! Thank you, zipfizz! All that took an hour and six minutes, and then I did the stability ball abs from kpc. I really did feel like I could keep going on and on.

It's raining here again and we have soccer. The guy who runs the league is famous for saying "soccer was invented in the UK and it rains there. They play in the rain. We will only have rain-outs if it's dangerous!" So, I'm waiting (and hoping!) for the call that it is dangerous! :)

Have a great day everyone! Very exciting about Lauren singing tonight, Kathy -- that'll be a nice evening!

Hi All!

I have a cardio to do today but not sure what it'll be yet. I need to give my knees a rest so I 'll probably not do a run. Although I am so addicted to those endorphins its not funny so I'm in a quandary as to which cardio guess I'll know when I stand in front of all the dvds, but a run...hmmmmmmmm.:p lol

My youngest ended up at a slumber party after her trick o treating but she didn't get such a good haul as previous years so she asked if I can get her some Halloween candy to supplement so it'll be for the 5 of us here. It was pretty dead around here

I remember when my older two started going off with their friends during that time, since we where always in the same area I just would check up on them using the cell phone.

Chris sounds like you all had fun last night :)

We did too although my lil one was disappointed and I only had one kitkat fun pac so I was very good . Not so sure how I'll be the rest of the time but thankfully my time for craving sweets is over yay! I have no desire for candy so far and I don't want to give up points for candy when I can use it for something better.

I updated the index for Cathe's rotations but really didn't study it her rotation for this month as I plan on continuing with my kettlebells and running for this month again.

Kathy so Lauren is not into treking through the neighborhood anymore eh? Thats nice that you both got a chance to stay home and see all the costumes .

Lauren sounds like quite the creative one singing and painting - That is so great. Tell her I wish her a great time at her choir and I guess it's "Break a Leg" for good luck :)

Have a great time everyone and hello to all that follow.

Beth we posted at the same time.

So sorry your lil one didn't have such a great time but that he scored well at your friends house good for him!

I'm going to try your 'homework' later on today sounds like a good one. Did you use your 26bell? I had it written down so I may try it later on after whatever cardio I decide to do. Still waiting on my 26 so I'll do it w/ my 18bell. I hope she doesn't take down her site because your trainer is so inspirational just wow! Tell her I said that she has a reader over in NC who is stuck in no mans land for RKC trainers close enough and her blog rocks.

I am going to have to look around for that zipfuzz stuff sounds like something I can use. I've been drinking the Emergen-C before my workouts not sure if it helps as I don't feel zippy lol

Now I just feel like by passingthe cardio and doing those swings... it was 20 -21 & 22 in 30 secs with 30 sec rests right?

Hey girls!

I did 4DS: Bootcamp and in the midst of it thinking: "OH! This is interval! Cool.. I need it!". And Ab jam always works my obliques, I always ALWAYS feel it there.

Beth: Too funny about the cookies. I know, I'm so bad at baking too, so I know what you went through! ... And hey, I TOTALLY meant to thank you for the Zipfizz info from yesterday!! the link helps too, so I know where to look for it & what it looks LIKE. I could TOTALLY use that at work!! .... Oh My, Your T or T'ing sounds quite eventful! I'm sorry Dylan had such a horrible experience. I can only picture my 7 year old in that situation. He would have been tramatized too! In fact, there was one instance where he turned from the door, and didn't see me right away and was looking frantically around calling "Mommy!!?!?!". Poor kiddos!

Kathy: The pilates workouts sounds good. I wish I had more time in my week, I'd do Pilates more often too. Cool, we'll be doing the rotation together (with you previewiing it a day ahead of me!! ;)) That should be exciting to see Lauren in the choir tonight. makes church enjoyable! (not that is ISN'T usually...). Glad you had a fun (and non bingeful) Halloween!

Vilma: You did so good too, Only ONE Kit Kat? You rock!! Your kettlebelling and runs are a great plan for the next month! We had a good amount of kids for Halloween. And my boys went on side street after side street and brought home a bundle!! Too bad they weren't close enough to share with your daughter!!

Hope you guys have a great Saturday....

Happy Belated Halloween!!

I hope you all had a great time yesterday with the kiddo’s! We went trick or treating at churches and it was fun. I did workout yesterday and I did Dove’s Bodies #1 and it was fun. Today I did C&W Premix Step Saver or something like that, lol.

Chris: Great pics from yesterday’s post!! You got your kitties all dressed up too! That’s too cute! I also had a handful of chocolates last night! I couldn’t help it when I saw them in my ds pumpkin candy thing, lol! WTG on your workout today!!

Kathy: Have fun at the choir tonight. WTG on your workout!

Beth: You and Vilma are tempting me into getting a Kettlebell and start working out to that too. WTG on your workout!

Vilma: Have fun with the workout you choose to do today!

My DH is off this weekend so I’m going to spend a lot of time with him and the kids. I hope you all have a wonderful day today! Here’s a pic of me and the kids dressed up, lol.

Hi, I'm back just quickly -- we're having friends come over for dinner so I have a lot to do.

Vilma, yes, 30sec on/30 sec rest, and first you do 20 long swings, 20 shorter swings, and 20 speed -- the speeds don't make that much sense, because you do them faster than 30 sec, but I think those are what really fried me. The next round is 21 long, short, speed, and then 22 long, short, speed. I think she had me do this to get a feel for the difference between long and short, and that speed really are fast. I started by alternating between the 8 and 12, but quickly found I was not comfortable doing the speed with the heavy one, somewhere middle to end I gave up on the heavy, and then at the very end it was all I could do to not drop the 8. I think part of the deal is that my arms just got so fried with the speed work. I will tell Tracy you like her blog. The sad thing is that she strikes me as someone who would be totally fine with someone like you reading her blog, but because other trainers have ripped off her ideas and not given her credit, she is feeling the need to stop being so generous. I think her food blog will "always" be there. This rainy weather has me that much closer to buying a pressure cooker and making her soups! I know I could do them without a pressure cooker, but I do like the idea of the time savings.

OMG..Ivy.. I ADORE your kid's Halloween outfits!!! And yours, but your kids are just a little bit cuter!! :p

Beth when you get a chance could you explain the long, short and speed swings? I 'm not sure what the difference between a long and short is and speed I'm guessing is how fast you can swing the bell ?

Thanks
