No Sweets week of July 22

Hey ladies, I can not believe July is almost over!!
I will be busy the first part of Aug. I have a conference in NYC Aug 2-5. Then after coming home and working 4 days I will be heading to NJ for the Cathe RT!!!!!

Today I did P90X Legs & Back. I did pullups in sets of 3s & 2s for a total of 20. This evening I did C&W step premix and KPC abs.

Eating has been good today. Hope to keep it that way!!

Fitfairy, sounds like you have some exciting things coming up. You have been really focusing on your weight training. Continue to work hard and Save up...so you can enjoy a few special treats at these special events.

Today I did GS Legs premix and step premix from Body Max 2.
 
I was really tired this morning, so I took a rest day. Wow---it also hard for me to believe that July is almost over.
 
Affirm, you sound like me. I am always beat the day after working legs. That's why I schedule my rest on Thursdays now. I do my heavy leg work on Wed and there's no way I'm working out on Thurs :D

I really have been working hard to up my wts and keep pushing. It is a slow process, but seems to be working well. I am seeing subtle changes in my body. At some point I need to change it up a bit, not sure when.

If I could ever sit down and read The New Rules of Lifting, I might just come up with a plan :+

Today was upper body with moderate wts. I decreased my rest between sets to 45 secs (from 60 secs) I did rest 1 min between some different exercises. My goal is to do 10-14 reps with as heavy of a wt to complete all three sets.

Bench: 27.5# 2x10 & 1x8 (wt upped 2.5# less reps was fried on last set)
Pec Flys: 20# 2x12 & 1x9 (did 3x12 last time :( I blame it on upping the BP)
BB Row: 55# 3x10 (increase 5#)
BB OHP: 30# 2x10 & 1x11 (wt was 40# last time, but too heavy to complete all reps)
Lat Raises(long lever): 8# 2x10 dropped to 7.5 1x9
Skull Crushers: 13.25# 2x12 1x10 (increased wt by 1.25# fewer reps per set)
Kick backs: 12# 3x12 (same)
Concentration curls: 16.25# 3x12 (increased wt by 1.25#)

I am amazed at how much just a slight increase in wt (1.25#) can make such a big difference :eek:

Hey ladies. I couldn't log in yesterday. We had stormy weather along with power outages. Today I did a short cardio + C&T + BM2 (abs & stretch). My diet has been better now that I'm almost done with TTOM. I will do GS Legs tomorrow and then I'm going to rest a bit from GS. I already planned a rotation with the intensity series and I'm going to do it for about 2 weeks or so and I'll start it this week (Wednesday or Thursday). After that I'll try GS again for 4-6 weeks because I get awesome results from that series.

I can't believe the Road Trip is in a couple of weeks! :eek:
 
Rose, I am glad you are okay. I was wondering if you were away and I had missed it.

Today I did Rhythmic Step without the challenge.
 
Today I did GS Legs. Wow that one always gets me. I'm not sure if I'll be able to workout tomorrow and start my new rotation with the intensity series, that depends on my level of DOMS. If not, I'll start it on Thursday. My diet has been good and I'm happy about that.

Affirm, how much longer do you have off this summer?? Locally, the kids start school next week :eek: they do the semi year round program. I can not believe the first day of school is next Thursday!! That means worse traffic for me x( And more late day patient appointments. Cause everyone wants in after school.

Rose what kind of intensity series rotation will you do?? I only have a few dvds from the intensity series.

Today I did legs and chinups. I am beat!!
Squats: 65#BB 2x12 & 1x11 (up 1 rep on each set)
Bulgarian Squats: (2) 20#DBs 2x7 & 1x6 (up 1 rep on 1st 2 sets)
DLs: 70# BB 3x10 (fewer reps on 1st set x( )
Plie Squats: 50#BB 1x10 & 2x8 (upped wt 10#)
Calf Raises: (2)30#DBs 3x15 (upped wt by 1.25#)
Chinups I did sets of 6,6,5,3,4,&4 for a total of 28!! That's the first time I've done 2 sets of 6 in a workout. I was really hoping to get a set of 7 in today x( Next time}(

Fitfairy, I have one more week off. Actually, this will be my first time working 11 months, so I am going back to work 2 weeks earlier than I normally would. My kids don't start school until the last week of Aug. I am sure you enjoy the summer traffic. My friends always tell me that they love it when school is out because the traffic is much lighter. I am looking forward to the school year as my job is only 5 minutes from home and I had been commuting an hour.
 
Rest day for me today! GS Legs left me with sore hamstrings.

Catherine - Leg work and chin ups? lol! Of course that is enough. My rotation with the intensity series is pretty much doing PUB and PLB with short cardio premixes (from C&W and Bootcamp) and then doing IM2 one day and ME (with another short cardio) the other day. I'll do one day of yoga and then I'll have 1 or 2 rest days. It's a pretty simple rotation but a little bit longer on those days I weight train because I'm going to add those short cardios to burn extra fat. I'll do this rotation for 2-3 weeks and then I'll go back to GS since I get the best results in terms of definition and strength gains with GS.

Affirm - Oh no! one more week? I hope you enjoy your last week of vacation. :) I also prefer summer traffic, but that'll come to an end in mid-August.
 
Rose, your rotation sounds like a good one. Do you ever use the Pyramids bonus w/o. I really like that one. It hits it all, upper and lower body in a compace w/o.

Affirm, only one week :(. But 5 minutes from home- thats nice :D

I have a bit of DOMS this morning, but not too bad.

Today will probably be a rest day for me ;)

It was not supposed to be a rest day, but it is. My knees have been bothering me a little bit this week and I just have not felt like stepping. My workouts have been short including the weights, but I just took the day off. I guess my body needs a little extra rest this week. However, eating has been good and I hope it will continue to be.
 
A bit of DOMS from this morning has turned into pure DOMS :eek: I am now debating whether or not to w/o. Was gonna rest but realized next week will be out of town for 5 days at a conference and won't be working out x( Is stil undecided about what to do?? Oh well, life goes on.

Hello ladies. Today I did C&W step only + PUB. Whoa mamma what a workout! I kind of forgot about the bicep section on PUB (talk about tough!) and meanwhile Cathe's cracking jokes on the segment and I'm trying not to laugh. Oh man! lol!

Affirm - I hope you feel better tomorrow. Lately I've been having soreness in my hip flexors and lower back, I'm thinking it's time to get new shoes, but when I get them if I still have soreness then I don't know what that might be. When it gets out of control I rest and then I resume my workouts the next day. I don't want get an injury.

Catherine - Leg DOMS is not fun! If you can't workout for 5 days then remember to stick to your diet and make it a rest week. Our bodies deserve those breaks once in awhile. I hate to take them but I know I have to.
 
Rose unfortunately I will be in NYC and doubt I will stick to my diet on those days }( I am due a week off. I guess I will do my best to eat good most of the time. But I'm not going to NYC and not try some of the local cuisine :D

Today will be upper body for me.

Fitfairy, you have been working really hard.....you have earned the right to enjoy have some eating fun in NYC.

I felt better today. I did the cardio premix of Drill Max. I know what you mean about our bodies needing some rest sometimes. I think my body has enjoyed the rest and shorter workouts this week.
