Morning everyone.

Didn't quite make it on my water yesterday. I'll try to make up for it today. No salty snacks, but I did manage to find a cookiex(

TOM is two days late and consequently, I am as bloated as a beached whale and cranky like you wouldn't believe. Isn't being a girl FUN?

Hi Shelley, All to Follow.

I did great yesterday, had my water, no junk, no sweets.
I need to start eating right tho as far as br/snack/lun/sn/dinner.

Yes being a girl is such fun. Mood swings, bloating, crankiness, emotional unbalance, etc. etc. I'm sure you'll feel better once you get it. I usually do. Then I'm moody because I have to put up with it. But hey it's a Girl's right aina?;-)

Good Morning!

I just woke up, so I'm doing great! I don't get an appetite until about noon, and then it seems to go downhill from there!

Hang in there Shelley...at least you are getting the monthly girl fun out of the way for next week!

Tammy

Well, now that I'm back at work from 5 days on vacation, I expect to get back into my regular eating groove. No sweets are on the menu today! My lunch box is packed with carrots, nectarine, clementines, almonds, grapes and a bowl of homemade minestrone. I'll be complementing my minestrone with a salad from the cafeteria. And I've got my big ol' water bottle. I am feelin' good! Hope I can keep up this attitude all day long! :)

Being a girl definitely has its down days. :p You'll get through this time soon enough, Shelley. Hang in there!

Oh yes, Shelley, I agree being a girl is just SO much fun. (I'm being sarcastic.) Having a period is such an inconvienence!! x(

Today is my sister's birthday and we're going out for lunch to celebrate. Red Lobster- one of my favs! :) For dessert, she wants to go to a place downtown that has divine desserts called Cafe Espresso. I'm allowing myself a dessert, but may end up sharing one with a family member as their servings can be pretty large.

I'm kind of torn here, though. Part of me is excited about this allowed cheat, but the other part wants to stick with the challenge. Maybe I'll surprise myself and just order an espresso...?? Probably not!! :p :9

I drank so much water yesterday I spent most of the time running to the bathroom! I did well on the no sweets too and he no salt. The weekend is coming though so wish me luck.

Periods/ What are those? I haven't had one since last fall so I am seeing my doctor finally this coming week. I hope it's because I work out 2 hours a day sometimes more. I am not ready for menopause yet. Mentally anyway.

Hello Ladies!

I've been off track for the past few days. I'm caring for my elderly aunt who lives an hour away and she's not doing well at all. I need to go there twice a week now to make sure she's okay and do housework for her, so my eating habits are not what they should be. I was doing good on 5-6 small meals, but I've been doing 2 big meals instead, which doesn't do good things for me.

Back on track today with the water, no salt, and small portions!

I wasn't ready for menopause either, but it's here and no big deal (so far). I think working out keeps the bad symptoms at bay.

Enjoy your day!

Margaret

Oh no Shelley TOM? That sucks. I'm glad mine was last week. It seems your weakness is still sugar.

Well today so far so good and it will stay that way (I'm determined.) I've cheated for two days this week so I might as well be strict the rest of the month. I have to say that I'm going to buy clothes at the end of July, I need to, mine are looking way too big on me:) . Just goes to show you, you can exercise for hours and hours daily, but if you don't change your diet habits you won't see noticeable changes as fast as you want.

Have a nice afternoon and evening ladies.

Hi everyone!

I've been missing these check ins. I see that some are continuing with the no sweets. I've also continued with it. I did, however, indulge in some homemade cheesecake on the Fourth with blueberries on top! Yummy!

Shelley, I know what you mean about that TOTM. I, too, am two days late. How weird. I think my kids wanted to disown me yesterday. :-( I was a giant crab.

Okay, I have something awesome to share! I have strong mind over stomach powers! I baked a batch of peanut butter cookies (yummy!) for the kids and neighbors and did not have any! Not only that, but they are sitting on my counter and have been and I am not eating them! I am so proud of myself!

Yesterday was Hubby's b-day, so I did have a sliver of cake which I shared with my little son, so I had a half of a sliver. I am feeling pretty good here!!!!!!!

Have a great day all!

Wait until Aunt Flow comes around....then we will see. Does dark chocolate count as a sweet??? I am being serious. Choco has great health benefits.

It feels so empowering to have something dnace under your nose that you love and not eat it!

Missy

p.s. Oh, and with the water, if you aren't thirsty don't make yourself drink. Too much water is bad, it can flush out the good stuff you eat and not give it a chance to get absorbed in your bloodstream. If you start to feel confused, nausious, fatigued (ironically the same as dehydration) slow down. FYI.

From what I understand, by the time you feel thirsty, you're already starting to get dehydrated. 64 oz of water a day won't kill or even harm you. It's when you start chugging gallons and gallons that you get into trouble.:)

Wow... I can say I haven't had salty snacks today or yesterday, but I have had a real eye opener!! I started using fitday.com and my sodium intake startled me!! I consumed 3.2 gms. of sodium yesterday. I believe 2 gms. of sodium is the cut off. I am already up to 2.1 gms. today and haven't had my p.m. snack or supper. This is just from the foods I consume that I consider healthy. Unbelievable. I have used no added salt. I need to start reading labels very carefully, now for sodium also. The deli meat I ate on a sandwich had tons of sodium in it as did the 2% cheese.

I did good yesterday after July 4 and 5th being out of control with my eating, due to July the 4th, if I push a button of eating more that I should, I really loose it, and it is not fatty foods, 2 turkey burguers for lunch and extra 2 for dinner, then going out with my daughter to see the fireworks, and I got weak when we passed the chinnese food and a bowl of shrimps with veggies was 4.99, I couldnt resist, so I had it, the next morning I was looking at the mirror like a freak looking every single part of me, totally freaked, I did boot camp and overate again, this time I had white rice and beef steak, fat free ice cream, lots of fruit salad, you may say, but nothing wrong, I am not telling you the amount of the food I ate, I am just listing, and portions are very important, so I have to work on P O R T I O N S.... moderation is what I need to learn, I have to remind myself I am only 5 feet, not freagging football player , so yesterday and today I have been good with quantity of food, this morning I had a bowl of kashi, half banana and skin milk, lunch I had zuchini omellet with egg whites, snack I had an apple, and for dinner the menu is salmon, steamed spinach and steam sweet potatoe, a bowl of salad and plain yogurt with blueberries, ... I didnt run today, instead IMAX2. wooohoo, I feel better after venting ;)
hugs to all of you!
The older I get the more I love me.

Since I missed my morning workout, I have been extra careful with my diet today. I think this is my best eating day ever...LOL! (Who in their right mind gets so excited about such a thing!)

Anyway, I've eaten VERY healthy all day, with plenty of water and no salty snacks or sweets. Too bad I didn't work out...:-(

Tammy

Hang in there Shelley, you'll feel better soon. Well I have done very well today and stayed away from the junk. Trying to help make up for my huge downfall yesterday.

Isn't funny how much better we feel when we are eating healthier, but whenever the urge arises we overeat or eat junk until we feel sick. I know this happens to me sometimes.
