Yay! I made it through yesterday with no cookies or biscuits! And no salt and I drank all my water. Go me!

The weekend is looming though. Always a more difficult time to resist those temptations. Be strong:)

How is everyone else doing?

Me too Shelley!! I had all my water, and not one ounce of ANYTHING bad, sweet or salty!
I usually cave on the weekends too. Let's stick together! We rock!:7

Nice going ladies. I have been doing the water part of the challenge and doing well. I limit myself to 64oz. and it is plenty. It also keeps me full and not wanting very much sweet stuff. I do like my Wheat Thins though for snacks~ salty I know. BTW does anybody know of Garcia Chips?
They are a natural corn chip with 4g fiber per serving and about 4g fat per serving. I know they are salty, but they are the absolute best chips ever, and I don't feel guilty eating them because of the great fiber content. I have only seen them sold at BJ's Wholesale club.

Way to go Shelley and Kali and Judy!

Judy-Why did you go and say Wheat thins :) I decided on a No salt Challenge as I love Wheat Thins and No fat potato chips but felt I was eating too many.

I did ok yesterday with water as that is the easy part for me. I did eat one bite of a my nieces muffin but seriusly it was because I was in calorie deficit and I had to put something in me Quick! So now I am going to carry some dried fruit with me in case that ever happens again while I am out. I worked out hard yesterday and didn't eat enough before I went to meet her. Lesson learned!

Good morning all you healthy people! :)

Water - no problem. Salty snacks - no problem. But... I did have half a small Blizzard last night. DH made me do it! I blame him! And Paris! :p Oh well, it was only HALF of the Blizzard - I could've eaten the whole thing. Then I'd feel really bad! I did really good the rest of they day, so the little bit of ice cream wasn't a huge setback. But I will have to make sure it doesn't turn into a habit! DH is not helping any!

Way to go everyone who stuck to their commitments. It's not easy, but it feels great when you meet your goals! :D

Hi All!

I did well with my challege yesterday, except for the portion thing. Ate way too much but of healthy foods.

Class reunion is tonight. Lots of libations and munchies. I'll do my best!

Yum. A Blizzard. The thought is making my mouth water.

Enjoy your weekend.

Margaret

Yesterday was a perfect day! Perfect! Nothing bad went into my mouth! YIPPEEE!!!!!

Tomorrow is my and DHs date night. We are going to a movie and I will eat a huge tub of buttered popcorn. I am confessing ahead of time. I don't even feel guilty about it! I love popcorn and, hey! It has a bunch of fiber in it so it isn't all bad, right? :p

Have a great weekend!

RE: No sweets, salt, more water etc. check-in - July 8,...

Happy Friday everybody! Well, good news, the strawberry ice cream is gone so I don't have to worry about cheating anymore. I've been doing great today and I feel great too. I hope to stay strong during the weekend though.

Greetings fellow Challengers! :)

Shelley- Whoohoooo, great job yesterday! Hope you're over the worst part of PMS for this go round.

Kali- You did great yesterday, too!! I bet you've got yourself set up mentally for a terrific no-sweets or salty snacks with lots of water. ;)

Judy- Those Garcia chips sound delicious! My favorite chips are made by Boulder- the Parmesan and Garlic flavor. They were buy 1 get 1 yesterday at Wild Oats, and you *know* that means I had to buy them! :9 I'll be good though and divide them up into single serving baggies. Good thing I'm not doing the no-salty-snacks challenge, huh? :p

Terri- Dried fruit is a great thing to keep stashed in your purse, car or desk drawer. I like mine with almonds and sunflower seeds- kind of a "weak' granola blend. I find that keeps my blood sugar more stable than the dried fruit by itself, which is especially helpful during those "emergency" times. :7

Emily- I'm applauding you for only eating half of that Blizzard. That's a victory in itself, right? ;) You're doing so well, pat yourself on the back.

Maragret- Enjoy the reunion! :)

Missy- High five for a perfect day! Yum, I love to get popcorn when I go the movies. Enjoy your date.

Rose- Isn't it a relief when a temptation is out of the house? I learned awhile ago that I just don't have enough self-discpline to keep foods that tempt me in a strong way in my home. Sending you lots of positive vibes for a strong on-track weekend!

Tammy- Friday is usually pizza night at my house, too. A couple months ago I started making my own healthy pizza with whole wheat Boboli crusts (or whole wheat roll ups), a quick and easy- and very low sodium- pizza sauce, some low fat cheese, maybe a Boca Italian sausage or turkey pepperoni, and lots of veggies. It's delicious! And guilt free. Hope you enjoy your pizza night. :)

Today has been a really good day for me on this challenge. It's Day 1 of my detox which pretty much squashes any opportunity to cheat. LOL Yesterday my family celebrated my sister's birthday- and I enjoyed a sweet treat. The dessert place I told you all about yesterday isn't opened anymore (so sad!), so we went and got frozen custard instead. I thoroughly enjoyed mine, and didn't feel guilty a bit. :9 :p

Sending out positive vibes to everyone, let's keep it up! We're all doing wonderfully!

Hello everyone... no salty snacks today, no sweets, and got in the water. I am still appalled by the amount of sodium I am consuming. I am tracking my food on fitday.com. Almost everything has sodium in it. x( I got it down to 2.9 gms. today. That is better than the over 3 gms. the last two days.

I have opened up my spice cabinet and used basil on egg salad today which was wonderful. I am going to start experimenting with spices and leave the salt shaker alone. There is enough sodium in my diet without doing that!!

About 2 years ago I started paying attention to my sodium intake according to Fitday, and was shocked by the amount. And then I started taking a closer look at each food as Fitday had listed them. I figured out that about 90% of the time Fitday ADDS sodium into foods. It's as if they are assuming that you are adding X amount to just about everything. For example, Fitday listed frozen broccoli with no added fat with 400 mg of sodium. However, I never add salt to my food, so I started customizing the foods that I eat most often and greatly reducing the sodium. I realize that sodium occurs naturally in some foods, but not to the tune of 400 mg per serving! lol

After I did that my sodium intake fell into the low to normal/acceptable range. I'm willing to bet that your's would too. ;)

Connie

Hey Connie,

Why those sneaky little devils... they even had sodium in my lettuce, carrots, cucumber, sweet potato etc. etc. I went back and customized the foods to take out the sodium and it dropped down to 2.1 gms. Much much better.

Thanks Connie!!

Hi Ladies,

Today was another successful eating day for me also. I'm starting to feel better every day. I know that this good feeling is from cutting out the junk. Keep up the good work everyone.
