No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolates.....

...are coming!!!!

Hello my fellow sugar addicts. It's a new week. My weigh-in was exactly what I was expecting (I maintained my weight loss, but didn't lose any more weight). I've been eating clean, staying away from the sweets, and whenever I get a craving I'm choosing healthier alternatives. I already had a cheat day on Friday. As far as my workouts this week, they are going to be short, mostly for maintaining because I don't have enough time to workout until Friday afternoon and woo hoo I get a loooooong weekend to workout after the 15th so I'll get back to the PS series for about 3-4 weeks more and then I'll move on to something different. I like PS because I get classic weight training in a short amount of time (especially with CST and BBA) and I can add cardio easily and for a little more than an hour get a great workout. I'll miss the series, but I need to do something different after that.

Today my workout was short, but I gave it my all. Drill Max cardio blast followed by some legwork and abs (the weight training and abs were not as long as I would like but at least I did something.)

This week is going to be tough for me as I absolutely love chocolate. I can't promise that I won't have at least one or two, but I will definitely promise not to eat boxes of chocolate and candy this week. Have a nice week. Remember that you can always smell them, but not eat them. :7

Hi Rose!! You can resist the chocolates :p Sounds like you are doing great. I don't have PS, but you've peaked my interest. I love pure wt training. Hmmmmm,...

Well strayed a bit too far this weekend. Not alot of sweets, just not clean. So it's back on track tomorrow. Did BM2 today. Wow what a workout. I even did it on a 6 inch step but was still pretty tired by the time it got to upper body. Me thinks this is a good one to split up LOL!!

Hey Affirm, how ya doing? Hope you are recovered from your illness!!

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

I love PS. In fact it was the first Cathe series that I got on DVD. The others I had on VHS, but when I started getting my VHS collection on DVD, PS was definitely the first one I got. Don't get me wrong I love all the other weight training series Cathe has done, with Gym Style being one of my absolute favorites, but I use PS more than any other series for the reasons I mentioned. CST is about 38 mins, but if you do a short high intensity cardio first and skip the warm-up then you'll have a super duper workout in a little more than an hour. BBA is about 42 mins but if you skip the warm-up and do a cardio first you can do the exact same thing. SL&A is longer (an hour or so), but if you have time you can add a 20-30 min cardio and keep it under 90 mins. I do that all the time with SL&A or do the cardio with the standing portion only. Of course after doing Gym Style this one may seem easier, but if you use heavy weights then wow you can feel it! In most exercises I lift heavier than Cathe, which was something I never thought I would do. I could go on and on about PS. Catherine, if you buy it get ready to see some old haircuts and high waisted workout clothes. :7

Affirm I also hope you're feeling better.

By the way I went to visit my best friend and she had homemade vanilla ice cream and honey roasted peanuts from Emerald. Couldn't resist, but I was satisfied with a little amount of each. I'm proud of myself.

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

Yes, I am feeling better. Did Rhythmetic Step this morning!! I forgot how much I love that workout. I don't own PS either.

We had company for dinner yesterday. I made another pound cake and had one slice. I had roasted chicken breast, collard greens, homemade macaroni and cheese. I know I am doing good when I can get by with a little of macaroni and cheese.

My DH is on a diet, so he and I have both agreed NO CHOCOLATE for valentines.

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

Hello! Yes Happy Monday ladies. Besides the honey roasted peanuts I've eaten about 3 times today I've been eating clean. I also did PS:CST with some kickboxing drills. Oh well. I'll do better tomorrow.

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

Hello again. Well I cheated like crazy yesterday (those honey roasted nuts darn it!) That happens when I'm stressed out. Ugh and I'm also starting to get three lovely pimples on my face. Again stress. Today I definitely can't work out because I'm going to be very busy, but I'm hoping that I can do something tomorrow night. I definitely can't wait until Friday afternoon to get back on track and I'm getting a facial on Saturday. Jeez! *Inhale, exhale* My mantra for the rest of the week is "I can handle the heat". :p

I need a yoga class ASAP. Take care ladies.

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

Rose, sorry to hear things are so crazy. Yes, I do believe some yoga and breathing are in order LOL!! Just move forward and don't look back.

I had potatoe chips at lunch today x( So Rose don't feel all alone. I have LIC on slot for tonight. I hope I can find the energy to do it.

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

Happy Valentines Day! I just finished the upper body premix of Muscle Max. I am not working today due to inclement weather. We got out of school early yesterday due to the weather also. Let's try not to be tempted by TOO much chocolate today.

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

Oh no! I just finished shoveling snow/ice----I am sore!!! Double workout today! Maybe a reason to have a sweet treat for valentines!

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

I didn't plan to check in 3 times today. However, it is confession time. DH came home with girl scout cookies. I had 5 trefoils (one serving---I checked) (150 calories) They were sooooo good. I guess that is my treat for shoveling snow for nearly 1 1/2 hour.

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

Hey Affirm!! Sounds like you had a busy day and earned those trefoils- so I wouldn't sweat it. You did plenty of that shoveling snow!! How much snow did you get.

I had an unscheduled rest day yesterday so I did LIC tonight. Ate clean most of the day, but had a buttery breadstick for dinner.

Where's Ms Rose?? Not downing a bunch of chocolates I hope, LOL!!

Happy Valentines Day!!

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

I'm here I'm here! How did you know about the chocolates?! :7 Let's just say I had an early cheat day and since I knew I was going to be busy (preparing for a meeting at 5:30pm and all that stuff) I woke up I don't even know how early, worked out on an empty stomach, and did a killer workout before breakfast: LIC cardio premix + PS: BBA. Wow! That's all I have to say. I skipped a meal though, I don't do that normally, but I was so nervous this afternoon that I couldn't eat. I got home around 8:30pm and I ate everything in sight (that is why I never skip meals). So let's just call it an early cheat day. At least I worked out. I hope you two had a great Valentine's.

RE: No sweets - Feb 11-17- V-day week...uh oh chocolat...

Fit Fairy, we didn't get a lot of snow, but it took me a while to shovel the side walk near the street, side walk to the house and the long drive way (we have a side load garage). We had a snow, sleet and freezing rain in Maryland creating an ice storm which creates major power outages. Most schools in DC, VA and MD closed early on Tuesday and were closed yesterday and again today. It is also windy now which doesn't help the ice situation as it snaps trees, etc. There was a 15 year old girl in Virginia who was killed when a part of a tree fell on her while she was outside in the front yard with her father. I just read that they wanted to air lift her to the hospital but had to cancel the helicopter because she it was too windy and ended up transported her by ambulance and she died at the hospital. That was so sad.

Rose, I hope things slow down a little for you today. And, what's one cheat day compared to all that working out you did.

Hey there ladies. Well let's just say that after Valentine's day I've been very busy and tired. Unfortunately I've been eating sweets too. Everybody has off weeks and this is my off week of the month. Thankfully we're going to have a long weekend and tomorrow I get back on track with PS and cardio for 3-4 weeks.

Take care and enjoy the weekend!

Hi Rose and Affirm!! Rose hope you get some reprieve this weekend. Well, I must admit I have been off too. Workouts consistent but not eating well. Not bad, but not good either. I am doing the November rotation and man are these circuit w/o making me hungry!! I could eat anything!!

Hello ladies. It appears that we have been about the same this week. I have not worked since Tuesday morning due to the weather. Try being in this house all day for days and not wanting a special treat! I did work out. My eating was okay. I didn't get in as many veggies as usual.

My cheating for the week looks like this:

Sunday - one slice of pound cake
Wednesday - a serving of girl scout cookies
Thursday - one slice of pound cake/with ice cream YUMMY!! Why did I decide to bake another pound cake??---because I had nothing else to do in the bad weather!

My goal is to enjoy a couple of treats a week. I guess Wed. was Valentines day, so maybe I don't have to count my girl scout cookies. :9 Realistically, I know the week was good in comparison to what it was like before we started the check in. I could have eaten all of that in one day instead of during the week.

I feel the exact same way. So what's one week off when we've been doing great since January? Now we get a long weekend to get back on track. I also have to say that I count housework as cardio as long as I do it long enough and with enough intensity. Tomorrow I get to work with the lawn and that's pretty intense, but I'm going to get my Cathe workouts today, tomorrow and on Monday. No excuses. Gotta burn off those extra pounds I'm pretty sure I gained back.
