No Sweets Check-In - June 23, 2005

8 days to go! Does anyone else think it's gone by really quickly?

Today should be fairly easy. Nothing around to tempt me. It's amazing how much sweeter fruit is now that I'm not eating sugar.

Yes this month so far has flew by. And I also should do well with sweets today as I have no sweets around either. I guess I eating my healthy bkf, but was looking at making the kids bananna nut muffins. I said nope they can eat something else, today I don't want to be tempted. I'm so Selfish!

Also I wanted to ask you a question unrelated. I posted a question and it hasn't showed up on the board. Does that mean there are too many post at one time? And will it eventually come up?

Hey Kim - no, it doesn't mean there are too many posts at one time. For some reason, it wasn't submitted. You should try posting it again. I assume it was a new thread you were posting, and not just a reply to an existing thread? Check and make sure you were posting in the right forum. I checked Ask Cathe and the Video/DVD forums and there wasn't anything new by you. Guess you're gonna have to retype it:)
 
HELLLLOOOOOOOO???!!!! WHERE IS EVERYBODY????!!!!! DON'T TELL ME YOU ALL FELL OFF THE WAGON WITH ONE WEEK LEFT????!?!?!?!?!?!?

I've been holding strong. Had a homemade strawberry/banana fruit smoothie last night. The kids had apples so I feel like at the very least I'm being a good influence on them. I've already set the "no pop" rule at home. Healthier and cheaper! We are also going out for ice cream FAR less than last summer. It's hard to say NO but it's better for EVERYONE!!

I made a peach-banana smoothie for breakfast this morning - I am lovin' smoothies! I just throw in random fruits and see what comes out. LOL!

We are also having ice cream a LOT less than last summer. Which is hard because Dairy Queen is just down the street! ACK! It beckons to me every night... "Come to me, Emily... Come have a peanut butter cup Blizzard... you know you want one!" Yes, Yes I do want one! *drooooool*
 
Have made it so far without sweets today. I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things and got a watermelon. It is so good. I didn't get any last week because I had eaten it so much the weeks before.

My son wanted donuts, so instead of saying no, I am going to resist. I know that food can't stay away forever.

We all will make it through this final stretch.

I don't know how Emily does it but in a blender I throw in some strawberries and bananas, fat-free plain yogurt, a little soy milk, and some ice cubes. LAST month I added a splash of honey! ;-) If you use frozen strawberries or frozen mangoes or any frozen fruit, you can use less ice. You can experiment with all different combinations of fruits. Veeeerrry good!!! :9

Yup, that's about how I do it too, minus the yogurt. And I usually use frozen fruits, so I don't put in ice. It's so yummy and there are so many different frozen fruits available! I think tomorrow I will try raspberry-banana! :D
 
Thanks Angie this does sound yummy! Now I have to buy a blender. This site just keeps costing me more and more money:)

If you get a blender, get an immersion blender, this is how I mix mine up and the cleanup is less of a headache.

No sweets today, no caffeine this afternoon....no joy in life any more....
 
After the sweet potato pie incident yesterday, I have been a good girl. Although the pesto tortellini I had for lunch would have been good topped with M&Ms.

Pardon my prior "downer" post. I just got a look at Paris' butt on the 'blame Paris thread' and I am feeling a whole lot better about life in general now.
 
Another day closer...and yes, it went by very quick. Today for some reason I am craving a GIANT soft ice cream cone. But, all I have done is dream of it. I'm not going to falter with only eight days left.

So, what is the next challenge going to be? I already drink more than 64 oz of water a day and I don't eat a lot of chips.

I had another another sugarless and non caffiene. It is fastly getting to the finish line. And it has been okay except for a few days I just had to splurge.

Hey guys I hate to be a whiner, but my foot was making progress in the past week. I know it will take a long time before I can use it anyway. But today I am at the grocery store and in the check out line and I forgot my bread. I told my daughter that I would get it. Well My dumb a** forgot and took off jogging down the isle, my foot came down and I could of cried. That hurt!!!! I can't believe I haven't eaten a box of doughnuts yet.

I know this isn't the post I should cry in but I just had to vent. I am afraid that I have set myself back even more.

Thanks for hearing me out. I'm just depressed!!
