Morning ladies!

Only 13 days left, counting today. I've already started thinking about what sweet thing I might like to eat on July 1st. It's gonna have to be something really worth it, not just some measly cookie.:)

Angie - enjoy your cake and ice cream today. I'm thinking of you in envy;)

Shelley-I agree it has to be something really yummy! Let's all start thinking about what we are going to splurge on and maybe post it:)

Jess- uh oh...what did you have? Oh well you are back on the wagonn today.

I went to the cheesecake factory for dinner last night. You will alll be proud to know I didn't have desert! They have a ton of different cheesecakes and I said NO! Well we were running late to our reservation at the comedy club so I had no choice but to say no :)

Terri

Well, I failed miserably... I saw a number on the scale this morning I hadn't seen in years. I'm two pounds down. And what do I do??????? I get myself an icecream AND eat dessert after dinner. I swear, sometimes I'm being so self-destructive ARGHH

Well, back on track now, no more sugar.

Dutchie :)

Hello strong ladies!!!!! I haven't been able to post in a couple of days. Oh the temptation!!!! I have eaten a couple of sweets (and felt guilty about it), but in moderation. I'm trying to get back in the challenge today. I'm going to be extremely busy until Wednesday so I don't know I'm going to be posting here in a couple of days. I will try, but if I can't do it I'll be back next week. I have to keep in mind that this is a very important challenge for my health. I have learned to check another new thing in food labels and that is sugar grams. I can't believe all the foods out there that have way too much added sugar. It is amazing. I can't have this challenge will go away in 13 days!!! I think we have to expand it: the no sweets and junk food check in would be a good idea I think. Take care everybody.

Hello Ladies!

Well, I passed on the wedding cake last night (DH ate both his and mine)...BUT (hangs head in shame) I had three glasses of wine and 2 glasses of champagne...and boy do I feel it today!

By the way, just a little advice for y'all - doing HSC with a hangover is not recommended.

I am still doing well here. The kids ate Ho Hos, which are sooo good, but I resisted! I did buy some of those new South Beach diet cereal bars. I had a peanut butter one. It was pretty good, actually! (7 grams of sugar...how much is too much?)

I agree about extending our challenge. Maybe one week off and then after the 4th of July, back on for the challenge? We could continue the same (no sweets), or eliminate something else, too??

7g of sugar for a cereal bar is pretty good considering I've seen some with over 20g of sugar. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Yes, we should continue our challenge (I'd say no sweets and junk food so I can stay away from Ritz crackers and potato chips). Today I had a taste of passion fruit sorbet (one teaspoon only) and I actually found it way too sweet. My palate is getting used to not eating added sugar.

Tammy, you're funny!! You've just created a new workout!! High Step Hangover!!! :+

I have also picked up the good habit of checking sugar gms. on food labels. Since I do WW, I never really checked this specifically since, if something fit in my points for the day, I could have it. I am shocked at the amount of sugar that is in things also. This is something very good that has come out of this for me.

I was one of the ones begging on bended knee not to cut out caffeine but after I saw what it did to my heart rate this morning on a run (I usually don't run in the morning), I am reconsidering this. I believe I will try cutting my caffeine consumption in half insteading of going cold turkey. I have cut out caffeine this way before a long time ago and I had a headache for two solid weeks. I was so mean, I couldn't stand myself. DH will be administering my caffeine intravenously if necessarily if I try this again. LOL...

> I can't have this challenge will go away in 13 days!!!

What I meant was I can't believe this challenge will go away in 13 days!!! LOL! I type pretty fast (faster than I can think sometimes).

Definately junk food HAS to be included in the next challenge! I've been filling the void of no sugar with Pretzels, Baked Lays, Sugar Free candy...etc!

I've had a bad week junk food wise since it's TTOTM. Sugar wise I'm still ok, I guess. But I'm afraid if I start eating sugar in July I'm going to balloon up for the roadtrip! So we definately have to go back to the challenge after a couple days of "fun".

SHELLEY--hopefully your periodically "sniffs" of the cookies will continue to satisfy you. :)

JES--You didn't fall off the wagon, you celebrated your marriage!

TERRI--Good for you at Cheesecake factory! It doesn't matter WHY you said no, just that you DID! :)

DUTCHIE--My Weight Watchers lady has a saying "There is no such thing a failure, only FEEDBACK!" So your feedback is that you don't feel so good emotionally when you "celebrate" your weight losses. Live and learn. Feel Proud that you've acheived the successes that you have with your weight! And get back up here on the wagon! :)

BTW, Dutchie, your avitar puppy is just so precious! I just want to grab his wittle face and smother him with Kisses! Is he yours?

ROSE11--Hope all your stuff goes well this week, and that you're not too busy to exercise. If you don't have time to check in here, it's ok, just think of us and our UNITED struggle when the sugar tempts you! If Shelley can the OPEN bag of cookies back YOU can resists your nemesis too! YOU CAN DO IT!

TAMMY--Good for you with the Wedding cake! As for the hangover and working out, Stretch Max sounds perfect eh? :)

EARLYEXERCISER--Hooray for resisting! Remember Ho Ho backwards is OH OH! (Lame I know!) :) Good idea about extending the challenge (after a quick respite!)

JANE--Good luck with the Caffeine cut back! You can do it!

We are past the halfway point ladies and on the downhill side! We can do this!

Nadine

Rose & EarlyExerciser: I find myself checking grams of sugar on food labels too. A good habit to get into I think.

Jane: I tried to cut back on my coffee intake about two months ago. I didn't go cold turkey as I knew the perils that would wreak on my body. Instead I cut my morning intake to about half of what it was, cut out the afternoon coffee and my evening coffee became half regular, half decaf. I only lasted about three days, before I slipped back into the old habits.

Hey everyone, hope you are having a great saturday. I have been at the lake all day riding the boat and I am so beat. I am also burnt riding in that thing. But what is the real disappointment for me is I failed at not having my sugar today. I felt so aweful. It was only a little mini snickers bar,but all the same I should not of ate it. There is something about being at the lake that makes you hungry enough that you don't care what you eat. And the second thing is that I have been staying away from diet sodas this month, and I'll be darn I drank one today. And no excuse, but they totally had nothing else to drink, and I had to drink a regular soda instead of diet. Well later on I was knee boarding and then just rode in the boat for a while, they stopped the boat and I was nausea and I leaned over the boat and I really just need to leave it at that. Everyone was saying that I have not been eating sugar and then when I did it just messed me up. I don't know if that was the case or not. But I am back of the right track. Everyone please tell me that it's something I should beat up myself about.

Well I have talked too long.

Hey Kim,

Boat riding, jet skiing, or just being at the lake sitting on the dock makes me eat like crazy. I don't know what it is about being on the water, out in the hot sun, but I am usually starving. My cousin lives on the lake and we have a big family get together there every August. I end up eating my weight in everything....

Don't beat yourself up. This challenge has made us more aware of what we eat, made us look at labels... etc... this will be something we will carry after the challenge is over.

oh and my checkin... no sweets today, although I did eat four yeast rolls at O'Charley's at lunch today.x( Those darn yeast rolls... why do they have to be so good...x(
