No Sweets Check-in - June 16, 2005

Hi girls...

We have a temp working in our office for the next two weeks. So what does she bring in? A container full of miniature chocolate chip cookies. And where does she put them? Right next to the coffee machine, which is about five steps from my desk. I had to freaking walk past that container of cookies all day. And if I wasn't walking by them, I was sitting at my desk watching someone else scarf them down.

BUT! I made it through the day. They better be all gone by tomorrow or I will not be responsible for my actions!!!

No sweets going OK, but yesterday I almost gave in because of stress. I did have a cup of green tea with a touch of honey right before bed last night. Hey, I was ready to reach for the bottle of wine! LOL!

Shelley ~ I don't know what to say about your SO's stepmother and that cake. Yeah, you may have to come down with something. ha!

Tammy ~ Way to go, passing on those cookies!

Is it July 1st yet? I wasn't a sweet junkie, but I think I will be July 1st! LOL!

I heartily hope that come July 1st we won't all be sitting on the kitchen floor, legs splayed, back propped up against a cabinet, stomach distended and coated with crumbs, and huge smears of chocolate on our faces and hands. The SOs and DHs will find us in there once they realize that what's causing their shoes to stick to the floor is little puddles of rapidly melting ice cream and partially eaten Ho-Ho's. Shelley's SO will say: "Honey, don't you think you've had enough cookies?" And Shelley will reply: "Mmphf" and clutch the bag holding the last few crumbs close to her heart.

I'm hungry.

Mmphf...

Well, I went to DD's school picnic thing tonight. There was a 20 foot long table with about 10 feet of it being devoted to desserts. Brownies, cookies, cakes, donuts. I had some watermelon, a few tortilla chips and carrots. My ex (Sophie's dad) was there with me and took great pleasure in tormenting me about the desserts. It just reaffirmed to me why he's my ex. Moron.

Good for you, Shelley! Watermelon and carrots over sweet stuff is a serious triumph. So is getting rid of the moron. :)

Made it today with no sweets. I went grocery shopping and had some coupons for free protein bars, so I thought I'd try some. Some had sugar but one that didn't was Pure Protein. 20 gms. of protein and 0 gms. sugar.

I also bought Breyers Heart Smart ice cream, no sugar added, only 90 cal, 1.5 gm. fat and 4 gm. fiber.

ETA - now if I can just stick to half cup servings and not eat the whole carton in one sitting!!!:( This is my modus operandi.

i avoided serious tragedy today in the candy bar section at the drug store and got cashews instead! it was a very close call!

Hi Jane,

I'm with you on the Breyers No sugar added Ice cream. I tastes so good. I usually get the vanilla, choc, strawberry. Wish they had just plain chocolate. It really helps out when you get that craving for sugar.

I made it through day 16 and as usual I have been consuming watermelon. I think this will be my last week on that. I will have to go to my grapes and some other fruit. And still I have not had a diet or any kind of soda. That is something I thought I couldn't do. I think after this month I will only go to maybe one drink a day.
