We're at the halfway point!!!! How motivating is that?:)

I think there's a possibility that I'm beginning to NOT WANT COOKIES! Insanity, I tell ya, pure insanity.

I had been craving sweets really bad but I am now not even giving them much thought. Ok thats not entirely true! I only think about them when I see them! So I avoid going to where there may be sweets. Like the store:( No that's not true either. I go but close my eyes during the scary parts. Kinda like a movie:) I can do this I can do this is what I just keep saying over and over. I want it to be july!

I DID IT! I RESISTED THE CAKE! AND IT WAS CHOCOLATE!!!!

You know what is really weird... when I got there, and saw the cake, I didn't even really want any. I just kept thinking about how I had some apple slices back at my desk and those sounded really tasty.

So here I am eating my apples... while my coworkers all munch on chocolate cake with about 1" of white icing *yuck* and big cups of sugary fruit punch. Blech!

*scratches head* I don't know. I have heard that if you go without sweets long enough, you will lose your cravings for them. But I always thought that was hogwash because there couldn't possibly be any way I would lose cravings for sweets. Now I am wondering if maybe there IS some truth to that.

I still wouldn't mind having a cookie. Not just any cookie, but a home-baked chocolate chip cookie fresh from the oven. ;) So apparently my taste for sweets isn't totally gone. :p

I don't think mine is totally gone either, but I think I'm gonna hold out for something GOOD, as opposed to just shoving something in my mouth every time I pass the pantry.

And man, is watermelon ever good!

GOOD JOB, EMILY!!! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!

I think the best thing we've learned this month is moderation and realizing where our cravings are coming from. We are getting away from eating sugar that is "just there and convenient" and have discovered that it's much more meaningful to save something sweet for something really special. I can't believe that it's a week before TTOM and I don't have headaches or bloating or crabbiness (or course, there's still time!). I don't know if it has anything to do with no sweets or my generally clean diet in general. Whatever it is, I LIKE IT!!!

We are all so cool.

You guys are awesome!! Way to go!

Now I kind of want a home made chocolate chip cookie too! Why can't they come up with a recipe that only yields one cookie?

I bought a box of No Pudge brownies once (NOT this month!) that had directions on how to make one brownie. I didn't try it - we made the whole pan. They are really good. Even my kids liked them. And they're picky.

Angie

Those are really good and work with whatever flavor yogurt you have around. The one brownie recipe is a perfect amount!

Made it yesterday and having a good day so far. I still have those doughnuts staring at me. But I am resisting. Also going to a B-day party this saturday and I will resist that cake. If I can resist a shower cake I can do this. I think I can! I think I can! I think I can!

I sounds like everyone is showing some real willpower. Good going everyone.

Lunacat,
You may not want to hear this, but I do have a recipe for Chocolate Chip cookies (and other evil desserts) that only yield one or two servings. My husband bought me "Small Batch Baking" for my birthday and they're all in there. The good part is that you can't eat more than a few b/c that's all there is. Of course, I have BURIED that book on the bottom of the shelf, in the back, for the month of June. But I would dig it out just for you guys;) Think of all the calories I would burn squatting down, moving the books off the shelf, putting them back on the shelf, standing up, flipping through the pages...Why that's almost worth one cookie right there}(
Honestly, we've all been doing an amazing job with this. I truly believe if you can face down chocolate cake you can face down anything (of course chocolate cake w/ white icing--I agree, Blech--may only be worth facing down your mother-in-law or boss, but still)

Gosh someone help! I am turning into a watermelon. Everytime I would crave something I would stick a piece of watermelon in my mouth. I am floating folks. But I guess better WM than doughnuts or cookies.

kim

I'm with y'all on the watermelon. I have eaten more watermelon in the last two weeks than I have my entire life! Also, tons of strawberries, cantaloupe, and pineapple - yummy!

Two weeks down, two to go!
