Cathlete
Good Morning!:)

Happy to report another good day yesterday!! And a good workout! I think working one body part a day is a good rotation actually. Lets see what benefits I get from it...I also love going heavy!

Todays workout is going to be GS&PUB shoulders and cardio, also need to work abs again:)

Yesterday looked like this:

B-Bran muffin (my friend made)
L-WW eggo, cottage cheese/ 1/2 oatmeal choc muffin
S- Protein shake/ other 1/2 of muffin
D-Chicken breast,sweet potatoe and asparagus

In my defence the muffin was 170 cals, spread out yesterday}(

Missy** Do you think you could go a full month? We should have called this the "cut back thread" b/c I can't go a full day without sweets (not yet anyway) I have to have a little something at some point in the day. If my goal was a month, I would crash. Im thinking that for this month I could go, first week, 1 thing a day, 2nd week, 1 sweet every 2 days,3rd week,1 sweet every 3rd day and 4th week, 1 sweet for the week?

Linda** Don't you just hate it when you eat something and you don't eat taste it! LOL I think if we really tasted the sweets we ate we wouldn't eat as much. When I eat them I just gobble them up and never really "tasted" what was in my mouth. But when I stop and taste it, Im like "oh...thats sweet" and I screw up my mouth..probably went back for more though:)

Mag** Cheesecake and choc...sounds like a good day to me:) If I found out I were going to die, my day would consist of cheesecake. I say that lightly b/c I know that if I actually found out I were going to die,I wouldn't have an appetite!:) How was your dinner yesterday?

Catherine** I use to have really bad headaches when I was younger but I haven't had one in a looong time! They are so painful and sometimes takes days for them to leave.DD gets headaches quit often. I tell her that she is staring at the computer and t.v to much, I think I need to get her eyes tested. That could be the problem. Hope you are feeling better!

Alright...enough jibberish! I will be back later! Have a good day everyone!!

Lori:)

Morning Everyone,

Well I am still doing well with the sweets, but my eating has been up a little in the past couple of days. Not happy about that!

Missy - okay I am being nosey, I read Lori post on the OD and you mentioned the gymnist's picture being hijacked. Is that the one that was fourteen? Is that why she disappeared? How did she find out about the picture?

Lori - I actually think I could go a month with out sweets now, which is a huge accomplishment for me.

Alicia - I love your verse after your signature. Think I'll add my current mantra after mine. Mine refers to the current battle against food.

Migraine Suffers - I will have to admit I have never had a migraine, so I can not truly fathom your pain, but listening to you makes me truly thankful I have avoided that malady. I feel so bad for all of you.

Anyway here is my workout:

This morning was supersets again done in three sets of eight with 1:30 minute rest.

Back/Chest
Pullups
8/8/8 *** 4/4/3 unassisted! WooHoo! Thought this would drop more with superseting!
Incline Barbell Press
8/8/8 - 92# ***very hard!

Shoulder-Traps/Quads
WG Upright Rows
8/8/8 - 62#
Static Lunge
8/8/8 - 90#

Biceps/Hamstrings
Hammer Curls
8 - 28's
8/8 - 27's **knew after first set, I couldn't maintain 28's
SLDL's
8/8/8 - 105# ***grip was shot for these, have to figure out that problem

Then did some ab work.

Everyone have a great day!

Linda

-but I will not be mastered by anything. I Cor. 6:12

Morning, ladies! :)

Lori - I WILL DO IT! I am like the little train that could... I think I can, I know I can, I think I can... :p I just felt SO GOOD when I went 12 days, it was awesome! I had more energy, needed less sleep, didn't get tired in the afternoons, had much more efficient workouts, wasn't bloated in the tummy or a meany at TTOM like I usually am. I am on day #3... that is 10% of the way already. Chug-a-chug. The way it makes me feel is worth it to me :)

Linda, so you are at T - how many days? You sig is gone, I feel lost! :p

Catherine, okay Ms. Nurse Practitioner! :p Have you tried to omit certain foods from your diet? (I am hearing a great big duh now!) You are probably going to think that this is the oddest thing, but I have found that BANANAS were actually giving me migraines! I can eat bananas from the time I ovulate until the day after my period, but if I eat one before I ovulate I will get a migraine. The potassium in 'em don't do well with my hormones for those two weeks and since I cut them out I haven't had a single migraine since March of 2002... well, except for this December but that was because I ate bananas when I wasn't s'posed to. My doc just wanted to give me drugs, but I went to someone for an alternative, that is what they suggested and it actually worked. :)

Mag, I admire people that can shake it like that! How is the yoga going? JARI SHOULD BE HERE EITHER TOMORROW OR FRIDAY! I am so excited, can't wait to try it!!!

Alicia, read my post to Lori. I also noticed that my teeth didn't feel so nasty! Do you mind if I ask what you do?

Rose, HOWDY! :7

Yesterday was good, all good! :)
B: toast w/ peanut butter, orange
L: Tuna sandwich on wheat w/ LOTS of tomatos, green peppers, bl. olives, cucumbers, mustard and s&p
S: pear
D: beef burritos w/ shredded zucchini, chipotle peppers in adobo sauce and homemade tomato & onion dipping sauce w/ corn tortillas... DELICIOUS!
Today I am running outside because it is just lovely out! My Lucy will be so happy to be back out there again. I think that we will probably do 4 miles. :)

Have a great day!

Missy

Linda, yeah, that was the one I was talking about...you aren't being nosy! It was totally out there for everyone to read. :p
Bill caught on to it and confronted her/him/it. I took my picture trail off - the one with my kids! - because it just freaks me out that anyone could do that. What else could they be doing w/ kids' pictures? ick! I don't even know if she/he/it really was 14, that is just scary.

By the way, love the scripture! I used that when I became a Christian to help control my anger. I had post its all over the house for me, and in the car when I was driving because other drivers is what really tests me ;)

Missy

Missy, that's interesting about the bananas and your migraines. I don't ovulate anymore (premature ovarian failure) But I am on hormones, so who knows. I do notice triggers. The problem is there's no consistency. Sometimes a food will seem to set on off and other times not. So who knows **shrugs**

Linda, do you find with your heavy lifting you are hungrier?? I am ravenous all the time. Could eat a cardboard box right now. And I eat something every 2-3 hours

Lori, GS and PUB shoulders  bet you'll have a hard time raising your arms later :7

Morning!

Whoooohooooo I managed to make yesterday a good eating day. That has always been my problem, I can find the energy and willpower to exercise but have a real hard time limiting food.

Lori- Missy's marinara sauce inspired my dinner last night somewhat. I had whole wheat rotini with tomato sauce with mushrooms, peppers, onions and spinach. Just something I threw together quickly and it was quite tasty. We had some left over roast beef so I had a small piece of that for protein. And as much as I wanted to go for seconds I did stop eating when I was no longer hungry. Seems so straight forward but when something tastes good I have a hard time stopping. Would you say you've gotten better results with lifting heavier in general? I am still trying to figure out a rotation that works for me and can't seem to stick to anything in particular.

Missy - I have yoga again today at lunch, will let you know how it goes. I'm looking forward to it!:7 As for Jari, if you like endurance work this one is it! She does make a few cheesy "inspirational" statements throughout the dvd but that's just Jari and you gotta love her for it! You're seriously going a whole month with no sweets? So would you say that a few dark chocolate chips in my favourite kashi bar count?}( If they don't count I might be able to last the month as well hehehe

Linda - yes please add the counter back on. We need to know when the big day is. I have a feeling you will really kick it into high gear as it's approaching. I can sense the determination }(

A big HEY to Catherine, Rose and Alicia!

Oh and yesterday's workout was 4DS High Intensity Circuit and KPC abs. Today.....no idea yet, any suggestions?

Maggie

Missy - That scripture is really helping me keep my eating in check. I found just when I was starting this challenge. Now I make a practice of writing it everyday.

Catherine - I am usually starving. I will end up watching the clock waiting till I can eat again!

Okay, and back by popular demand....

Linda

T-minus 30 days and counting!!! (The pressure is on now!)

-but I will not be mastered by anything. I Cor. 6:12

Now you gals got me thinking that I should probably take the kids out of my picture trail...then it would be all about ME,ME,ME:) :) :) Just the way I like it!:7 JK! There are alot of sicko's in the world! I don't even know why people like that are born! Blah!

I have my workout complete:) I did as planned with weights and I also did CF. Good workout. I also went heavy with the weights. I didn't realize my tris were also sore until I started doing ab work!

Linda** Your a trooper! Id never be able to go the full month.Never mind the fact that we eat with my inlaws alot and if she sees me not having a little something after Sunday dinner, she will probably assume that I am trying to lose weight. When we were eating dinner on Sun evening, DS started to kick up a fuss so I put him in the tub and took 2nds of stuff on my way. She said "take some more, I love to see people eat". She isn't as bad as she use to be about my weightloss though. Has the scale started moving for you yet?

Alica** I do see a difference in my energy and in my eating in general. When I pick at stuff, its usually sweets so not only have I cut out sweets (some what) I have also cut out that mindless eating in the middle of the day! I also see a major difference in bloating as well! So nice to get up in the morning and have a flat belly.

Maggie** I love lifting heavy! I weighed a little less before doing so but I am not totally convinced that it was b/c I was lifting heavier...I think my eating was a little out of control. I do feel like I am getting stronger and I have gotten some nice muscle def as well. Especially in my tris...I kind of neglected them!

Missy** Your sandwich sounded sooo yummy!!! Do you beleive that we spent $160 in groceries on Sun and we are getting low already. There is little juice left, and hardly and fruit. We have went trhough 3 pineapples since SUN!!! The two of my kids love pineapples. They are on sale this week so I think i will have to make a trip back!

Catherine** Yeah, lets see how my shoulders feel tomorrow! hehe I used 20 lb db's for overhead press in GS so I have a feeling I will feel it tomorrow!

Did I miss anyone?

Lori:)

Lori - Maybe since there is only one month from today until my deadline I should try going completely without sweets. I must be out of my mind, but I am now considering it! Yes, the scale has finally moved it dropped 3# the other week and today it was down another 1#, but it may be more than that, because today was a lifting day and I always find my weight is up after a lifting session. Think I might check tomorrow, with only 30 days left, I need to know that what I am doing is working.

Missy - Want to join me on a month with no sweets?

Or anyone else want to go for it?

Have any of you ever been dizzy for no apparent reason? That's how I feel today, I am just dizzy all the time. Weird?!

Linda

-but I will not be mastered by anything. I Cor. 6:12

[font color=mediumorchid]"Now you gals got me thinking that I should probably take the kids out of my picture trail...then it would be all about ME,ME,ME:) :) :) Just the way I like it!:7

I am totally cracking up over that! :+ :+ :+ :7

Mag, does it make me cheesy if I actually feel inspired by her statements? LOL :p

Linda, you are a May baby, too? Two of my three kids are, so is my mom, step mom, MIL, BIL, SIL, next door neighbor, DS's best friend... It is almost as bad as Christmas around here!

Lori, at least you are running quickly through fruit and not stuff like Cheetos and chips... on the bright side. :)

Okay, after Mag brought this to my attention I feel like I need to revise my earlier statement: I will be eating no sugar EXCEPT for dark chocolate... because I love it and because it is actually good for you and because it makes me happy and because I would like to let the husband indulge me in something (he loves to get me sweet things and share them w/ me, now he will be able to) and because I love it and because it is good for you. :) No milk chocolate, no white chocolate, but dark chocolate. Does anyone else think this is cheating? I [bold]dare[/b] you to call me on it! }(

I finished my outdoor run and it was AWESOME! I do love running hills and sprints on the TM, but there is just something about running outside w/ the birds and the sun and the breeze... golly I have missed it! I did a trail where there are lots of frogs and squirrels and a bubbling brook (the bubbling part was added for dramatic affect), too, so it was pretty inspirational. What is more beautiful than God's creation? I did about 4 miles and it felt like I was flying because I am used to running and standing still at the same time. :p I am going to take a nice long stretch now.

Talk to you all later! :)

Missy

Linda, it may have been the extra day of fasting that did you in and is making you feel dizzy. Try eating an apple dipped in peanut butter and see if that helps. :)

AND I AM SO TOTALLY IN FOR THE MONTH! :D

Missy

Missy - It depends on how often were talking about with the dark chocolate! LOL! :p :p

Maggie - I love Kashi bars, I have to stay away from them those because I don't know when to stop.

BTW, Lunch seemed to help the dizziness, but it seems to be coming back now.

Linda

Linda, congrats on your progress so far and I totally know what you mean about those bars. I only had one today and I leave them at work. If they were in the house in the evening that would just be plain dangerous!

Missy, I like your thinking, if dark chocolate in moderation doesn't count than I think even I may have a shot at lasting the month with no sweets. Dare I say, count me in??
"If you can believe it, you can achieve it!" How is that for Jari inspiration? Do you feel it?:p

Lori, 20lbs for overhead presses? Ouch!As for neglecting triceps I know what you mean, mine were plain pathetic when I started. I don't have a lot of cathe's heavier lifting dvds but have seen significant improvements with 4DS and MM so far. I just need to be a little more disciplined and make sure I have enough lifting days in the week. Hoping STS will be the answer for me.

Catherine, a nice well deserved break sometimes makes all the difference and when you get back to it you're a lot more energized. For me a 3-4 day break works well, if I leave it longer than that I have a hard time getting back to it. Of course that rule goes out the window when I'm away on holidays. :7

Hey gang!! Did someone say kashi bars :9

My workout this evening was legs and chinups followed by 30 mins of step.

Squats:
warmups- 50# 8 reps, 80# 5 reps
working set- 90# 3 sets of 8 (same as last week)

RDLs:
warmup- 70# 10 reps
working set- 95# 3 sets of 10 (up 5#)

Front Squats: 60# 3 sets of 8 (up 5#)

Good Mornings: 45# 4 sets of 10 (up 5#)

Calf Raises: 110# 25, 20 & 20 (up 5#)

Chinps: 5 sets of 5 unassisted with the first 2 sets adding 2.5# ankle wts

Linda, I hope your dizzyness is better

Mag, thanks for the "if you can believe it" quote. Very inspirational!!

Missy, I will join you in the dark chocolate!! It's full of antioxidants :+

Hope everyone has a good evening!!
