Hello,(
I'm bewildered and I am appealing to the voices of experience out there. I am on day 32 of my cycle with no sign of a period and a negative test result this morning on a home pregnancy urine strip. (Never in my life have I missed a cycle or been late--my cycle always falls within the 23-28 day range, but most of the time 24-26 days). Last time I got pregnant, the urine test detected it at 28 or 29 days. My husband and I did try to conceive at mid cycle.
Here's my question: Am I possibly anovulatory? I have never had an anovulatory cycle before, but since I'm getting up there in reproductive years (age 42), I might have to entertain this possibility. I am wondering if the missed period could portend the palpable beginning of perimenopause. My doctor advised me to wait another week (day 39) and take the home pregnancy test again. Of course, I'm going to do that. What else can I do but wait? Still the curiousity is eating me alive. What could possibly be going on with my body? (If I'm pregnant, I want to know ASAP, since last year low progestorone may have played a role in a miscarriage I had at 11 weeks) Please ladies, I would love to hear from anyone who has knowledge or a similar experience. Thanking you in advance.
