Hello everyone!

I posted earlier asking a question about how long to be off birth control pills and what effects they had on our bodies... Well, I'm now officially off them - and on to (yup!) condoms -as so smartly suggested by Peachy (although my DH thought of those right away). So anyway, now that I'm off ( not even a week yet ), although we weren't going to try until maybe Sept. -- all I want to do now is ttc! It's driving me crazy! My DH DOESN'T want to yet (we are doing construction on our house) - but my body and instinct is saying try try try!!!
I have a great relationship with my DH - and of course would never want to push him into anything - and we ARE on our way to it -- I just wanted to kind of let out how I'm feeling here. I can't believe how much I want this!
I'm living vicariously through all of you! :)

Hey Snowbee -- any luck for you!?!?! How's it going over there!?

LOL I wanted to ttc a year before I knew that I was really ready! It doesn't take much for a womens head to take off with something, espcially pregnancy!:)

OMG! You sound exactly like me when I got off the pill in January of 2004. When the baby bug bites, it bites HARD!!:) We both knew (I'm 29, he's 32) we wanted children and I wanted to start trying RIGHT THEN!!!! He was being practical and wanted to wait till we both finished school, etc. I just couldn't get the thought out of my head. But, we did wait and didn't start "officially" trying until December of last year. Then, in January I got pregnant. I'm so glad we waited because we can focus on the pregnancy/baby and not on 50 other things.

At the time it really sucked waiting but you'll be glad you did. Besides building a home and being pregnant at the same time is more stress than I'd want to tackle at one time.

Besides, time flies and he may be ready sooner than you think. Oh, and don't forget to remind him that it is 10 months until the baby arrives and the house will surely be ready by then. Until then, keep practicing!:):):)

Hehehee, funny how relieving it is to hear from others who have went through this same thing! Wendy, I'm all about pointing out to him that in 10 months we WILL be done with the house! :) But then again, you're right, I think I would think twice about painting, tiling, and the other work that has to still go into our new extension if I were pregnant... I just worry what if we aren't so lucky to get pregnant on the first couple of 'official' tries!!

Oh, but I just can't wait...

Hope that the next three months fly by for you! Think of using condoms as a new adventure in your relationship -- once you start TTC, you will have many, many more. :)

Hello there,
I feel your pain. I have just started my last birth control pill pack yesterday then after that it is baby making time. However, I am very nervous. My son was born 8 weeks early (I went into labor with him 10 weeks early but made to eight week early). I then had a miscarriage in October so getting pregnant this time will be interesting. I will keep you all in informed. Go luck to all who are expecting.:) ;)

Hi Ruppie!

Saw your post at work today, but had to wait 'til I got home to reply...

DH and I want to start ttc now - but we are patiently waiting until our trip to Walt Disney World in October (our first anniversary and official honeymoon!) I know it's a little selfish, but I don't want to be on all the inevitable pregnancy restrictions during a trip that I've been looking forward to for years!! Besides, once a little one comes, I know my selfish days will be over...

I realize the sooner the better now that I'm already 37, but I figure a few more months probably won't make a difference in the long run. Plus, we'll need the extra time to save up money for future expenses (after the Disney trip takes its toll:eek:)

All that being said, I agree with everyone that it's hard not to ttc when you're off BCP and have decided that's the direction you're headed. It's like, DH and I are dying to find out if we CAN get pregnant after a decade of trying not to!

Snowbee - good luck! That makes complete sense, and is a good enough reason to wait! As I'm waiting I'm trying to think along the same lines.. this month we have three weddings and I wouldn't want the restrictions then... next month something else... :) hopefully it'll get me by! Maybe we'll both be here around the same time! (fingers crossed!)
