Nip/Tuck 10/11/05 episode...spoiler

Did you like it???

I liked this episode A LOT better! I guess I am just a prude and tight ass when it comes to drugs and weird, crazy sexual content. The language was not as bad and no direct shots of anyone's hairy butt! Very refreshing! It's becoming a family show more and more by the minute!LOL!!

I am convinced, however, that this show's main objective is to make me cringe!!! The surgery detail, the woman screaming that she was awake during her procedure and at the end...Shawn carving up his arm!!!

My husband has figured it out...when they play music...LOOK AWAY!! That seems to be when all the things happen that make you shutter!:7

Ima!!!! LOL! I love that show! It always shocks the heck out of me, but I can't look away haha. That old lady looked like she really had a facelift and other stuff done for real (maybe she did). Now we have to see who is the misterious attacker next Tuesday.

Access Hollywood let it slip that "The Carver" is a regular on the show...and a woman (I'm still going with Kimber, as she is an expendible character).

I think it's Quentin myself! I thought it was him last season when he came in to help with Sean's surgery. We know he's bi, so it would explain the whole raping Christian thing.

I agree, last nights episode was REALLY good! I can't wait to see next weeks. That whole "being awake during the surgery but not able to say anything" was pretty freaky. Glad I'm not having any surgery anytime soon. I'd be a little freaked out.:p

Ooops, I didn't see the woman part. Well that blows my theory. Maybe it's Gina. She's apparently coming back this season and she's a little crazy!

Katie

Also...all arrows are pointing at Quentin right now (IMO) so that means it WON'T be him!

I hope it's Eva....I miss her...ahem...I mean him...I mean....oh, you know who I mean!!

You know, I'm starting to think it might actually be the cop. Would she be considered a "regular"?

Kimber got what she wanted already (Christian needing her support), and there's no reason she would continue with the carver thing if it were her. But the cop: who is better placed to keep the carver from being caught than the one investigating him? And why did she ask Christian if he'd been raped? The carver didn't rape his other victims (did "he"?). Why would she ask that?

I have also learned to look away when the music starts! Yuck.

The awake during surgery thing - everyone's worst nightmare. I have had 3 procedures in 3 years and every single time I have to talk to the doctor about this, my deepest fear. I have to have a valium the morning of the surgery just to go in there because of that.

My new carver theory - Liz? Maybe she has a split personality. They haven't really developed Liz this season and maybe she is ready to leave the show. She always has a few lines supporting whatever Christian is dissing and then nothing. They never really developed the wanting to have a baby thing and they have exhausted the "lonely lesbian" storyline on the transvestite story in the first season.

The key thing with the Carver is that he/she (and that goes for Eva as well) has to have access to the paralyzing drug. No one but a doc or someone who was pretty savvy would have this.

Thoughts?

That's a possibility! I didn't really think about it, because I thought she was a character that would stick around, but I'm not sure why. (I also thought she's rather busty to disguise her figure so that everyone thinks she's a man!) But you're right about the access to the drug, maybe even the fact that the anesthesia didn't work on the patient (she could have done something to it, or used a different drug, because she was POd that the girl had claimed the Carver had done the deed to her, and s/he really hadn't, and she wanted the girl to suffer...before killing her off).

Maybe she had some kind of psychotic break, and couldn't stand the vanity involved in most of the surgeries that were done. Or, like you say, a split personality.

It does seem that her character doesn't have a lot to do anymore (the "she's a lesbian" thing has sort of run its course). Anyone hear about the actress leaving the show? (Big hint that it's her!).

On the other hand, it could be another red herring! I like that it's not obvious who it is (though, once the culprit is revealed, it should make sense without being obvious).

Hmmm, Liz is an interesting theory. I never would have thought of her. It would make sense that maybe she had the paralyzing drug hidden at the office and ended up accidentally using that instead of the real stuff. Although, they could just be using that as a set up for next weeks episode when Christian becomes a suspect.

I was also thinking it could be the cop. I would consider her a regular this season.

My husband still thinks it's Quentin and that the whole Access Hollywood thing was a publicity stunt to throw people off from thinking it's him.

You know they are going to wait until the last episode of the season to tell us. They'd better not put it off until next season either. Especially considering how long it took them to start this season.

It would be more interesting if it were the cop...maybe.

I thought of Liz but never put all those pieces together...she is very expendable as far as story lines go. She really wouldn't be missed.

However, wasn't she "testing" the anestethia on Christian when The Carver struck the woman at the end of the show?

I think I am changing my vote to Liz....

If you believe that everything that was shown was going on in the same timeline!

(I still think she's got too womanly a figure to be able to hide it under the carver's outfit!).
