Nike or NB?

My work keeps me on my feet for about 6 hours a day and wondering which shoe would be more comfortable. I just had surgery for achilles tendonitis and need an excellent shoe. I am in the next hour going shopping for my shoes, so I was wandering if some of you educated ladies could give my some suggestions. I had been wearing NB620 which was okay but wanted to see if there was something better. I really don't know what the numbers stand for so I am a bit confused. Also are there any Nikes that would be good?

I will either shop at Dicks Sporting Goods,Kohls, and anywhere else you ladies can suggest.

Thank you for your help!

Boy, that's a hard question to answer. I prefer NB myself because they are very light weight with a lot of cushioned support, but I suggest you try on several pairs to see which shoe works best for you. DId your doctor have a recommendation? Also, if you have orthotics or use any kind of an insert, make sure you take those with you. Good luck and I hope you find something you love!

Just got back from buying my sneakers and I got the NB608 which I've gotten before and did okay. I did take my orthotics to make sure they were going to be comfortable.

Thanks ladies,

You know, I have been raving about my Nike Shox, but I am going to have to recant as I just realized last night that they are already so worn down that I am getting shin splints! I don't even think I've owned them for three months. Granted, I do a *lot* of high impact and I'm on carpet, but still, my last pair of Rykas probably lasted at least 1-2 months longer than that.

Anyway, so just my .02 about Nike. You know, it's really unfortunate that good sneakers are so difficult to find, especially since they're so pricey. My SO and I were in Walmart over the weekend and I was feeling really sorry for anyone who has to buy those crappy $15 "sneakers" they sell. I imagine they're an invitation to all sorts of ankle and knee problems!

Glad you like your NBs! Hope your foot feels better!

Marie

I have to rave about NB because it's really the only shoe that caters to super wide width. I have to wear a men's running/cross trainer shoe b/c of the width of my foot. It has always been an excellent shoe for me.

I prefer NB....either that I like the Reebok princess...I was never a fan of Nike. They never quite felt as comfortable for me..even though the designs are hotter than the other brands. Something about them never quite worked with me - so I would go with NB.

Thanks ladies,I have favored the NB over others. I saw the Nikes but I needed white and they were all too colorful.

I have been wearing my NB's around the house to make sure they are comfortable for work tomorrow.

You know, Marie, I have to agree with you.

Sorry I haven't posted in AGES... BUT I am on my second pair of Nike Shox and thought I LOVED them.. but the quality has really gone down hill. The sneakers are tearing around the swoosh on the side. That is insane for sneakers that cost over 100 bucks.
