Night out in NYC - need help from the locals!

It saddens me that I need to post and ask this because it only proves that I've lived too far away from home (New Jersey) for too long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to know the City like the back of my hand... :(

I'm getting married in October (yay!). For my bachelorette party, I've requested a night out in NYC, "back home," partially because it's been so long since I've gone out there but also because my party will consist mostly of family, who are located in NJ & NY, and very close friends, who are also located in NJ or coming in my car from up here in NH or MA.

Anyway, we talked about hitting Little Italy for the Feast of San Gennaro (my first request) but decided that it would be really hard to hold a larger group of girls together with all those people around during the Feast. So, we switched to dinner in Little Italy and then maybe a club (though we have one under 21er and might need to stick to a restaurant that she can stay with us in but not drink).

Any suggestions for either? I'd like to keep my cousin with us for the whole night so if there is somewhere we can go that maybe has a huge bar within or that will work with an under 21er, that'd be a great suggestion :)

I would definitely check TimeOut. It kind of depends on what part of town you want to go to and what kind of atmosphere you want. If you're downtown, I would probably think you'd want to stay downtown. The meatpacking district is super-hot right now and has a lot of that restaurant/bar type of thing as well as regular restaurants and some clubs. It's also easy to walk from one to the other if you find a dud. Downside can be it's all very "see and be seen" but young, B&T, and some places have lines. The bar at the top of the Gansevoort Hotel has some beautiful views, however (Hudson River, midtown and East). The drinks can be expensive, too, but that's true pretty much everywhere, and it is your party!!
