New Tracie Long DVD Preview Download

Wow! You're really promoting this Tracie Long. Why? Why here on Cathe's forum? I understand it's "open discussion" but this your second post on her.

Hi !

I found Cathe by doing the Firm and reading the Firm forum where Cathe was mentioned very frequently. Tracie Long was an original Firm instructor and a huge favorite of many. I think Kathy S. is just posting this information for other's who have found Cathe through the Firm and are just curious about what some of the old instructors are up to. I found the preview very intriguing and Tracie was one of my favorite instructors when I did the Firm. I do Cathe exclusively now, but it's fun and interesting to review what other instructors are doing too! :D

Hi Barbara,
I ordered my new Tracie DVD's at www.justv.net/store/tlongdebut.php
If you have any problems you can email Tracie at http//tracielongproductions.com Hope this helps. :)
I remember Tracie when she first appeared on the Volume 6 Firm video. She then became an excellent instructor. I'm excited for Tracie on her new venture and company. :)

Hi Cathemade!

You're misunderstanding me, so let me try to clear this up for you. I see you're a newcomer to Cathe's site (welcome, by the way! :)) and so you wouldn't know this, but I've been a Forum regular since 1996 and I'm happily and slavishly devoted to Cathe (as Cathe personally knows). As I said in an earlier post about Tracie Long's new tapes, my purchases of the recent TLP tapes are the first non-Cathe tapes I've bought in years. By posting about Tracie's new tapes I am just passing along information to anyone interested. And there have been lots of Cathe-ites interested in the TLP tapes.

Cathemade, if you spend a little time browsing the "Open Discussion" forum topics over the past few months, you'll see that we often discuss other video instructors and their work (amongst a zillion other topics covering the whole conversational map). Many folks who adore Cathe also own and use tapes by other instructors, whether regularly or just occasionally. Tracie Long, Mindy Mylrea, the FIRM, Karen Voight, lots of yoga instructors, Pilates -- here we discuss it all.

I believe Cathe's gracious intent in providing us with this "Open Discussion" forum was to allow this community of people (who grow to "know" each other pretty well) to have a place to talk about all kinds of stuff that isn't necessarily directly related to Cathe or even directly related to fitness training. The "OD" forum sometimes veers a little off the appropriate path, perhaps, but not usually. This is a fun, freewheeling place where members feel comfortable asking for or offering advice or information about, well, almost anything.

It sounds from your post as though you got your feathers ruffled a little bit, thinking that I was horning in on Cathe's space. As one of Cathe's biggest fans I can certainly understand your desire to protect her. Rest assured, though, that my admiration and affection for Cathe, and my loyalty to her as my #1 favorite instructor in the whole world, haven't changed one bit. I did not intend to step on Cathe's toes, and in my opinion I haven't posted anything that is outside the boundaries of appropriate discussion here.

Now, having said all that -- if any of you all out there believe I overstepped, please tell me, because I would certainly owe Cathe an apology.

I am new to this forum and my understanding is, afer reading the description, that the forum is for this purpose. I personally like to hear about new workouts. Even though I prefer Cathe, there are other great instructors out there. Kathy S. did nothing wrong and your post is uncalled for. I would like to here about Gay Gasper and Donna Reed's new vids. Please let's not discourage that! x(

I know Cathe encourages us to crosstrain and use a variety of exercise. I felt the same way Cathemade did at first. I originally felt a bit guilty discussing other instructors but realized that Cathe approves of this. As good as she is, we all come back for more! :)

RE: Hi Cathemade!

Kathy, you already know you didn't overstep or hurt anyone's toes!! Good grief. In this forum we've discussed other instructors, politics, religion, free speech, American Idol, breast size, peeing problems, body image, every disease known to man, drug abuse, eating disorders, the economy, marital problems, sex, sex and more sex ... did I miss anything??? I'm sure I did!! LOL!! My point is, don't let one person's ruffled feather-like post bother you. Everyone on here knows you adore Cathe and her workouts, and Cathe herself knows this, and if she were offended by us discussing Tracie Long, I'm sure we would have already known about it. I'm glad you put this post here, because I received the same email, but haven't yet looked at the download. I am, however, eagerly awaiting to buy a combo DVD/VCR for the room in which I workout, so I can buy Cathe's new DVD's AND Tracie's three new workouts, which are also only available on DVD. Okay? Okay!! Everything is cool here in Cathe-land!! :D

Kandy!

Hi Kandy! Thanks for the welcome home! We had a very nice time visiting both of my sisters. We didn't do a whole lot, just lots of gib-gabbing catching up on each other and tons of relaxation. Sorry I can't help you with the TLP's since I don't have them. Nice to hear from you.

Carol!!

Hey girl, you are one funny broad. Your list had me chuckling before the fourth or fifth comma.

I'm not lacking in self-confidence here, Carol, never fear, so don't mistake me for a cowering weenie. I may be a push-up weenie, but I ain't no wuss. And I didn't think I had overstepped at all. But I felt it was important to be VERY specific about inviting dissent, even at the risk of opening myself up to being flamed. I'm pretty much ovenproof after hanging around here for eight years. :) I don't care about and wouldn't pay attention to a little firepower. I just wanted to be very, very clear that if Cathemade's feelings were widely shared, those people should feel perfectly free to step forward and tell me to take my Tracie Long posts elsewhere.

In which case I would have privately communicated with SNM to get some clarification on posting guidelines, by the way.

Go buy yourself that nifty machine for your workout room, kiddo, and charge it off as your advance Mother's Day present! :)

RE: Carol!!

KATHYS

Hi KathyS, I guess you're right about I guess it sounds funny to say, "protecting Cathe". I pride myself as being a fitness competitor and doing pretty ok (in top 13) in competitions. I work out solely with Cathe. I have accomplished so much the last few year just because of her. I have seen and used FIRM videos and personally hate them. I think they are the worst workouts for various reasons. So, I guess when I saw a FIRM instructor here ....
Cathe puts so much thought in how her workouts are performed and even choreographed (like that really matters). She has perfected the premix workouts, so each workout is stylized. No, I would not say you've overstepped, I guess I was just a bit "bugged" by it and probably should have kept my mouth shut. Thank you though for your Welcome and for your kind explaination.

RE: Yo, mighty Carol!

LOL!! But instead of the scowl I have an evil smile, and instead of the jab-cross and roundhouse kick I'm lifting that 55 pound barbell of mine and using it as a javelin - LOL!!
