Hi! I'm new to this forum. I just started doing Cathe's workouts and I love them! I've been working out consistently for about 22 years and I consider myself to be in very good shape. A few months ago I purchased a Polar Heart Rate Monitor to keep track of calories burned, heart rate, etc. I noticed that my heart rate didn't get as high as I would like. I had been doing The Firm and decided it was time to get out of my "comfort" zone. I've mastered quite a few of Cathe's workouts and I love them and they make me feel great. I do notice that when I'm doing the high intensity blasts, my heart rate can peak as high as 185. I don't feel bad, other than I'm concerned that it might be too high??? I'm not lightheaded or gasping for air. I'm just enjoying my workout. So my question is this. How high does your heart rate get when you do Cathe's intensity blasts? My heart rate never gets that high when I do Taebo or The Firm. But when I do those workouts, I barely get out of breath. I really feel that I need to step up my workouts to continue getting results.
My resting heart rate is in the 50's, my blood pressure is fine and I'm a conditioned exerciser. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I'm 39.
