New Puppy/ names

It has been my experience that a dog usually LIVES UP TO his/her name .. LOL!!

My male Bordeaux .. we named him Buster .. OMG .. he SOOOOOOOO lives up to that name .. he is a handful! His female partner .. we named her Tootsie TNT Taylor .. just like her name .. the Tootsie part .. sooooo sweet and innocent .. then just like the TNT part .. BAM .. she can be full of it! LOL

.. our outside dog - a pit bull dog .. we went with a nice calm .. name .. Sally .. I call her Little Bit .. and just like her name .. she is so sweet ...

.... I like Molly for a Lab name .. or Angel is another good female lab name!

When you get her .. her personality will probably help you figure a good fitting name for her .. :D

We rescued our doggie and he was already named, so we kept it. His name is Gilbert (he and his brother were Gilbert and Sullivan), but he gets everything from Billy to Gillybear to Mr. Prancy Pants... my SO calls him Foo Foo, which is short for Fuzzy Foo Foo Face:p Sometimes it's "the Foo Foo", as in "I'm taking The Foo Foo for a walk".

I like the idea of naming him after you've had a chance to get to know him a little.

My pug's name is Leo, but if we ONLY KNEW how much urine he was going to be able to hold in his bladder, we would have definitely called him, "Peabody." :)

PS: Marley is a great name for a dog - did you read "Marley & Me"?

Thanks Barbara for the great website on dog names.
No, Marie I did not read Marley & Me. I wasn't even thinking of the book when I thought of the name.

Peabody :7 :7 :7 I love that! My 4 doxies are rescues and all came with relatively boring names, Oscar, Charlie, Jacob & Heidi. Of course they all have nicknames which we use more than their given names (unless they're in trouble for something) Oscar is Pie or Monkey Butt, Charlie is Binks, Char Char, Char Scar (he has a scar from back surgery) or Wise Old Owl, Jacob is Bean, Jake the Snake or Snakeinator and Heidi is Heidi Lou Who, Lou Lou, Louis and Star Belly Sneech. Have fun naming your puppy, let us know what you decide.

JaneJ-
Have you heard about that bestseller called "Marley & Me"? I haven't read it, but it's supposed to be about a pretty crazy dog named Marley. I guess for all his craziness, he was pretty lovable though.

I also like the idea of letting her personality decide the name.

A yellow lab in our agility class was called 'Shammy' (as in Chamois). I always thought that was a clever name for the dog because it described her color so perfectly.

Our 2 year old Yellow Lab is a bit on the golden color, we named her Ruby.

I also was going to name her Lily but my girlfriend named her pup that! The other names we had in mind were: Lucy, Nugget(we sometimes wish we would have chosen this one!), Pumpkin, Amber... Can't remember the rest!

Hope you can all decide and one and enjoy that puppy!Susan

I named my cats Sidney and Shelby. A friend of mine once had a yellow lab and her name was Maddy. That would be my pick for a pup.
