New Crosstrainers

I need new crosstrainers and I have been having trouble finding a pair that don't have a tread like bottom on them that sticks to my step (it's new)and that are comfortable. I thought I finally found a pair today and I tried them out and not only do they stick but they make the balls of my feet burn after awhile. The crosstrainers I'm wearing now are Avias and are about 9 months old and don't feel as supportive anymore, so I though it was time to buy a new pair. They don't make the same ones I have now anymore. Have any of you had this problem? Do I just need to get used to the shoes and they won't burn my feet or should I return them?

Thanks :)

Debbie, I have had a terrible time with my new sneakers. I bought a
pair of asics and they kill my feet. My problem is that a size nine
seems to fit, but are a little tight and a 91/2 is to big. But the
balls of my feet really hurt and it is making my other shoes
bother me also. I even bought the new insoles for them! Maybe you
need to go up a size thats what I'm thinking, even though they seem
big.

Thanks Garilee. That may be the problem with mine too. The 8s are a little snug but the 8 1/2 were too big.
