new charlene workouts

They do look good. I have never heard of PiYo from Chalene before. But they are expensive--$40 for one DVD? I am curious too if anyone else is aware of this site.

Chalene has quite the little fitness empire! Her non-BB dvds are geared for fitness instructors who teach her licensed programs (Turbo Kick, Hip Hop Hustle, PiYo). I've been interested in her "fan" versions of these workouts, but haven't succumbed...yet. :D

The instructors ones (in the past) had issues w/ poor sound quality & so so production. Also, right & left sides were were worked unevenly as one side would get the beginner moves and the other side would get the advanced moves. I understand that all these issuse have improved greatly for her more recent stuff. So, the fan workouts available now would have better production as they are from her most recent rounds.

There are usually 2 workouts on each dvd so it's around $20/workout. I think Chalene is a great instructor, very creative, wonderfully motivating and knowledgeable. Again, I don't have any of these, but I do have my eye on them!

If you follow Chalene on twitter or FB or sign up for her emails you'll get LOTS of information about her programs, BB & non.

When I became a PiYo instructor I got all of the PiYo videos. I am also a Turbo Kick instructor and have many of those videos. Jonahnah is right about the videos. They are all very good as instructor videos to learn the choreography to teach a live class, but as for a workout...BORING. I have tried at times to use the PiYo videos for a workout (Turbo ones too) and only made it a few minutes before I was so bored and restless that I had to put in a different video to complete my workout.

My opinion is that you would be better off spending your video dollar on other videos if the goal is for a workout for yourself. On the other hand if you are an instructor looking for different ideas the PiYo videos can be useful.

Good luck,

Shayne
