netflix conspiracy?

I've been a customer for 2 months now at netflix and at first my dvd would arrive to me by the 2nd day. I get one at a time and I watch very quickly and back in the mail it goes so I was probably getting 2-3 shipments a week. All of a sudden one of my returns went missing, then on my next order I got something 10 down on my queue. Now my turnaround time has more than doubled.

I can't help to wonder if this all happened because I returned things too quickly because in the beginning they were always sending me emails to make sure I got the dvds quickly and now it seems a different story.

This is Netflix's policy. It is called Throttling. They now openly admit to doing this(after they lost a lawsuit.) If you read your aggreement with them somewhere it should explain that the advantage is given to those who don't receive a lot of movies. I left Netflix years ago because of this. You can google Netflix and throttling and find a lot of information. I'm sorry you're just finding out.

I remember a while ago someone else posted this exact same thing about Netflix. I can't remember who it was, but they had the same experience, at first getting great service and then suddenly it all went screwy. I bet if you searched under Netflix on this site you'd find it.

That's strange - I've been a Netflix user for over a year now, and I have had nothing but great experience with them. However, I do only view a couple of movies a week (really - who had time to watch more?). I send them backa and get a new one in about two days. Never changed since day one. Additionally, some of that is the postal service, too. No one can guarantee something getting from point A to point B in two days or less (except UPS or FedEx).
Keep your expectations realistic and you won't be disappointed. Remember - they are serving everyone in the country.
I have nothing but good things to say about them.

I started out with Nexflix, and switched to Blockbuster which was much better. I also got a coupon every week for a free movie from one of their stores.

I barely use Netflix anymore because of throttling , but one suggestion is to keep one or two DVDs for 3 or so weeks, then return them. I've had one of my DVDs out for over one month.

I've been with Netflix for a couple of years now. I know that I have experienced some throttling with them but they seem to have gotten better lately. I noticed that when I return my movies from my home it took longer than when I mail them from work. I live and work in different states so that may be the reason. I have never not gotten a movie. They even lower our rate recently. I rent mainly foreign films and they seem to have the best selection.

I just read all the information I missed in their agreement which yes sounds like their right to "throttle". Well, I'm still new so we'll see how this goes and if not then off to blockbuster I go.
