Wondering..

I have a poem from my father's funeral that I would like to have put on some kind of plaque, preferably with a picture of him above it. Does anyone know where/how I could have this done?? I tried looking for the poem online but it seems some rare person wrote it, so there are no premade plaques. How much would something like that cost?

Thought maybe some of you would have had memorials made for your loved ones in the past or something.

Thanks for any help!

Try a trophy shop in your area for engraving on a plaque. I'm not sure about adding the photo (which I think is just a great idea), but I'd start with a trophy shop and ask them for suggestions.

I've had various things engraved and it varied by the number of letters/words. Usually a few cents a letter or something like that. HTH!!!!

I don't know where you might have this done, but after my wedding, my husband's best man took one of our invitations and set it in lucite....the clear plastic, like a paperweight shaped to look like a frame, it was really pretty. If could find someone that sets paperweights, I was thinking, after getting a caligrapher to write out your poem on some nice paper that might work for you. Good luck, hope you find something you like. What a lovely idea, by the way!

Any framing place will be able to do something like that for you. Try Michaels. Can you print the poem using a really nice font?

Janice-
What a nice idea! My job is in marketing and I work with various printers in my community for special projects for our firm. They can do all kinds of projects! You might contact a specialy printer in your area, give them your photo and poem and see what they can come up with. It probably won't be cheap though, so it depends on what you want to pay. Another thought is to create it yourself on your computer and then mat and frame it in a standard size frame. You can get all that at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. That would be relatively inexpensive and I think it would still look nice.

You could also get a blank wood plaque and a decoupage kit.

basically you'ld seal the picture and poem on the wood with polyuerathane.

If you have a store called "Things Remembered" in your area they will make something like that for you. I'm sorry to hear of your father passing.
