Hi guys,
I'm getting a bit burnt out on my regular weight routine and I'm thinking of doing a yoga/pilates rotation for awhile. However, I have no idea where to start. Who's good, who's not?

If you can share some recs for both yoga and pilates DVDs that would be appreciated!

I don't want anything too light and easy but I'm certainly not advanced at either.

Thanks!

Hi Seaera,

I have several yoga dvds that I use often and love. My favorites are anything Rodney Yee, Bryan Kest, or Sara Ivanhoe. You can check out the clips for them at Collage video.com just click under instructors, then more and then click on the names I mentioned and it will pull up all dvds that person has there. Now for Pilates I like Ellen Barrett's Crunch workouts, or Jennifer Kries, or Brooke Siler. Another place to check would be amazon.com. Also there are some excellent intermediate to advanced pilates ones offered by 10 minute solutions with instructors such as; Lara Hudson, Andrea Leigh Rodgers and Suzanne Bowen.

I hope that helps.;)

Take care!;)

I love Jules Benson's Total Core Pilates, it's intermediate/advanced but it's easy to follow and totally enjoyable. The leg portion of the workout is excellent.

I was thinking about adding yoga to my workouts as well. Are the ones you mentioned really advanced or are they user friendly for those of us who are really bad about streching?

Thanks!

I second the Rodney Yee and Brian Kest (he's awesome and the bonus is he's pretty to look at when you're not in downward dog ;-)

I'm not an expert on Yoga/Pilates by any means. Just a "casual" user.

I have to say I picked up The Biggest Loser Yoga for Weight Loss and was very pleasantly surprised to find it a bit challenging, (I did sweat!), but do-able. There's different premixes and you can customize how long you do it and what level.

And , it was cheap! ($7?)
