Need some new music

I got some earphones for my PC at work, so I'm listening to CDs all day long and I need something new! I like music that's pretty hard. Of today's stuff, I like Nickelback, Foo Fighters, that kind of stuff. But haven't heard anybody new on the radio for a long time.

Any suggestions?

If you have a yahoo login (or just create one if not), they have a good free music site called launch cast (music.yahoo.com). You rate your favorite artists/songs and it randomly chooses stuff to play for you either from artists you like or ones that are in similar genre. I've found new artists that way. Also you can skip a song if you don't like it after 30 seconds and tell it to be never played again. It limits you to a certain amount of songs per month and does play some comercials but it's still a good way to get new ideas!

Audioslave - their new CD is gentler than their first (it's Chris Cornell from Soundgarden and the guys from Rage Against the Machine minus Zach de la Rocha).

I love "3 Cheers for Sweet Revenge" by My Chemical Romance!! And The Killers new album is really good IMO.

Hey Donna.....Slipknot has a new cd out today.....a live one. I know live cds aren't everbody's thing....but I love 'em.....all that great energy. There us also a new Nirvana cd out with some lesser known tracks on it if you are into alternative stuff. My Chemical Romance is great and I love Death Cab for Cuties, Jack's Mannequin.....but again that is along alternative stuff.....and I know you like your stuff a little harder.....How about Yellowcard....they have a new one out???? Oooh the new Korn comes out today too....Me, I like so much different stuff.....and since I got my Ipod, I am kinda like a kid in a candy store.....so much music and so little money!! Happy music searching!

Ugh. Tool is my favourite band and I can't STAND Nickelback. As far as I'm concerned, they've only ever written one song and they just keep singing it over and over and over again.

Sorry. I just can't tolerate anyone comparing the godliness of Maynard and Tool with Chad and the boys from Nickelback. Even if Nickelback are Canadian. Blech.

I'm done now:p

I like Nickleback too, but I have to agree with you Shelley. I didn't even download the new song Photograph to my iPod because it really didn't seem like anything new.

I did like the new Scott Stapp song. I'm not sure how the rest of the CD sounds. He was the lead singer of Creed. I wonder what happened. I liked their music too.

How about some U2? I love them, but I didn't like their Atomic Bomb CD until I heard it live in concert. They rock!

Hmm, I can't think of any other bands right now.

I highly recommend Muse. They are a British band and they sound a little like Radio Head at first but after a few listens they sound much better than Radio Head. They are really talented musician - the drummer is particularly good. Their latest CD is called Absolution - it's one of those CD's that I love every song on, which is rare for me. I know at Amazon.com you can listen to 30 secs of each song.

Ohhhh. How old am I???? I have never even heard of these bands. Of course, here in the cave, we're banging rocks together and calling it music.
