Hey from WV. I'm new to the forum and need some help. I'm 44, had been in decent shape about 1-1 1/2 years ago. I'm not sure what happened. I've lost alot of interest in things. I'm thinking I going through the dreaded "change of life". I need some encouraging words to get me back on track. My husband tries, but really they don't understand. Thanks for listening.

Go to SEARCH on the previous page. Put in Perimenopause. You will find very interesting and informative reading.

Lou~Do you have ANY Cathe tapes? What level are you at? Beginner/interm/advanced? I can almost guarantee if you have never done a Cathe tape before, you are in for a real treat. (A lifetime love of fitness.) Her tapes just make you WANT to exercise. I am 51 and also starting, what I think, is the beginning of premenopause and it definitely throws a curve your way. I'm also healing an injury which has put an even more frustrating damper on it all, but I will press on! I do what I can with the tapes I have. (Which is each & EVERY Cathe tape! :7) Let us know what tapes you have, what equipment you own and also what you like to do...Step, Hi/Lo, Kickbox, Circuit, Strength work and so on. WELCOME!!! Nice to have you here!

Debbie,
Thanks for the reply. Since I am new to Cathe, I have no tapes as of yet. I did start getting her TV show recently on cable. I am wanting to start out working with her on the TV show and see how it goes. Then I will probably order some of her tapes. I love to do kickboxing, My husband & I have a gym at our house, so I do strength training there. We have a cablecrossover, squat rack, decline bench, treadmill, roman chair, etc. So, I have "NO" excuses. Again, thanks for the chat.

Lou :)

Cathe has three great kickboxing tapes. Two are Kickbox and also Cardio Kicks from the CTX Series, then there is Kick, Punch & Crunch from the Body Blast Series. (Just in case you decide you want to get the whole workouts. I have heard that the workouts on FitTV are shortened and also contain commercials. )Report back after you have given her a try and let us know how we can help. Good Luck getting back into your workouts. Cathe has a great way of making one "stick" to it. Have FUN!

You need encouraging words! Don't we all from time to time. NO excuses, I'm 46 with 2 kids work full time and workout at 4:30am!!! You're not going through the change of life - you're going through the change of seasons! You will notice that exercise really improves your mood and provides stress relief!! Just start slowly, Cathe's new series will be perfect for you to get back into shape. Most importantly SET A GOAL. Something SPECIFIC not related to the scale. For example, I will average 3 hours of exercise per week (you can break it up any way you can! And/or I can bicep curl 3lbs today and by next month I will be able to complete 10 reps at 8 lbs!! (Pick your body part) but focus on getting stronger! Try on the same pair of pants once per week and check for better fit! How are you doing on the eating front? Too much sugar can make you blue - I've noticed my PMS is BAD when I eat too much sugar. I really try to limit my sweet treats and get plenty of calcium, take a multi-vitamin, and drink a lot of water! When I started my health eating goals - I limited dessert to one serving a day and I added 1 vegetable serving to what I was eating at lunch and dinner. I made myself eat the veggies first - so I didn't fill up on the other stuff.
That should get you going, simple, slow, don't overdue it and focus on getting stronger and being able to do cardio longer.
