Hello everyone,
I have been a lurker for a long time and occasionally even post. However I find myself in an all time slump. I have not worked out in about 6 months.....yep, that long! I am one enormous mass of soft fleshy flab. I even purchased the most recently released Cathe DVD's. They are still sitting in their shrink wrap. I have landed my true dream job and really would like to know how all you working godesses manage to juggle a family, full time work and working out. I get up at 5:45 am which enables me to get ready for work and get three kids ready for school. I don't get home till 6:30pm. Any suggestions??? I truly need major help. Thank you all for you input.

Hello. It is so easy to get into a slump. Been there myself many times, but lucky for you we are all here to motivate you and encourage you to go for it. Take the shrink wrap off those dvds and take a deep breath, its time to fire up your body!!
If your a morning person then you could workout @5am. If not, then you will have to do so in the evening. Make no excuses, stay focused, watch what you eat for now on and choose a time and stick with it.
Make sure you have the stability ball and other stuff you will be needing.
Keep coming back here and let us all know how you are doing. We will all be sweating right along with you....you will never be alone.

I also have 3 kids...it is hard sometimes to find the time...but maybe you could include some family type of stuff, get out and go for a walk after dinner, or ride some bikes together. It is real easy to let everyone else's needs to seen more important than yours...but sometimes you just have to do something for yourself. Think of it as your special time to treat yourself. In the end, it will make you have a lot more energy to keep up with the kids. I have lost about 26lbs since Nov 04....and I have a lot more energy now. Just remeber that you are important too...and make that time for yourself. Good luck to you...these ladies on here are wonderful support.

I have totally been there! I was in a 6-month slump too - I had just gotten married and DH and I were in the process of building a new house and we both work full-time as engineers, so free time was pretty hard to come by. It was rough - I put on some weight and got pretty weak. So I know exactly how you feel. After we moved into our new home, I told myself "New home, new routine", and started getting up earlier so I could work out in the mornings. At first it was just 30 minutes. Then 45. Now I do an hour every morning (sometimes I get carried away and go 5 or 10 minutes over!). I get up at 4:45 am in order to fit my exercise in. It was really tough at first to adjust to getting up so doggone early. But it started becoming routine (and I had to go to bed earlier too, so I could get enough sleep). Now I can usually get pretty fired up when that alarm clock goes off in the morning. I am new to Cathe and challenging myself to get through her workouts without dying (LOL!) has been excellent motivation for me. What it really took for me was something new. When I start to lose motivation, I know it's time to buy myself a couple new exercise DVDs and mix it up a little. Of course, you have a whole set of new DVDs - you just need the motivation to unwrap them and use them. Finding time is hard, I know, but you have to literally schedule it like an appointment. Getting up early is what works for me, but you have to find what works for you - what appointment time will you be able to consistently meet? Put it on your calendar every day, and don't be late! :D
