I recently won a success story contest so I have $100.00 to spend on Cathe.com. I am debating on whether to get a weighted vest and lifting gloves or 4Day Split. I have all of Cathe's weight dvd's and I'm wondering if the weight work on 4DS is comparable to her other weight workouts. Also any comments on the weighted vest? TIA for helping me spend my money!:D:D:D

I vote the weighted vest; you already have plenty of strength DVDs and while 4DS has some excellent weight-training segments, you can wait on these. I am currently not using my weighted vest but it is extremely handy. Be careful wearing it on hot, humid days because it really holds core temperature in.

First of all, congratulations on winning the contest!

Now onto the fun part...shopping. A weighted vest can really kick your butt, even if there's only 20 lbs on it. In addition, lifting gloves are great for heavier weights. It doesn't really make much of a difference if you're using 5 lb dumbbells, but the lack of gloves becomes a bit more apparent if you're bench pressing 40 lbs. I have been using them for a long time now and I don't think I could go back to not using them without feeling unstable.

Don't get me wrong, 4DS has some great workouts—for both cardio and weight training. But, like Aquajock said, you should probably wait on it. Get the weighted vest and lifting gloves first. Then, next time you've got the money, get the 4DS workouts.

Hope this helps!

I'm hopping on the bandwagon for weighted vest and lifting gloves. If you already have a variety of DVD's then a weight vest could be something distinctly different to add to your repertoire.

I just got my 20 pd. weighted vest and I must tell you how much I love it. It really makes it easier for doing leg strength exercises...just add a barbell without having to lift up too much weight.

Congratulations! I think the weighted vest would be a good investment. I don't have it but would like it for STS. I also think the slanted risers would be cool too. Let us know what you get.

Thanks so much!

Thank you guys for all of your responses! Weighted vest it is. I was already leaning that way but I know for sure now that's what I'm going to get. Can't wait! Weighted vest, here I come!;)
