Need Help!! - Lose Weight after Child Born

Cathlete
I tried to post my question in this forum tring to get help. Please pardon me if I am not posting in right place.

I am new to Cathe. I found it 3 weeks ago and I am already hooked up with it.

I consider myself an intermediate and rather fit before I had my 2nd child 10 months ago. I am 5'3" and 125 pounds. I eat almost clean, maybe a little bit much carb. But after 2nd child birth with C-section, I still have more than extra 20 pounds with me.

My question is can I use your CTX only to do rotation to lose weight about 20 pounds from now to June? So far I have the following DVDs,

All 3 GS series
HSC
HSTA
HC EXTREME
CTX
ME(VHS)
MM is on its way

I only have about one hour work out time in the morning(joggling between 2 kids and full time job). What kind of rotation should I take can be effective to lose those unwanted fat and flab ab before summer comes?

All inputs are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I would say lots of cardio with at least 2 days of weight training, hitting upper and lower body parts. You need lots of cardio to kill the layers of fat and when that starts to go down - say you have only 10 lbs to go, maybe up how many days of weight training you are doing. I'm no expert but that is what helped me lose it after my son. I'm sure other's will have good advice for you. Really there are so many ways to work your body, I don't think any are "bad".

As hard as it is to believe, there IS such a thing as OVER training...in both cardio and weight training areas. I don't know the details on this but it IS possible so don't go insane with your routine.

Keeping it to an hour per session, no more than 6 sessions per week with one rest day is fine. I'd say train each body part with weights 2x per week (split it up however you want, just make sure you give your muscles a chance to rest between work outs) and fill the rest in with cardio.

Also, when doing cardio, mix it up. Do some step, some kickbox, some high/low, etc. If you only do one kind of cardio you are not getting the maximum results from your work out b/c your body will get used to your routine and will not burn as many calories per work out.

Cardio and weight training are equally important so don't neglect either...and pay attention to your diet.

Have fun and let us know how you are progressing!:)

How on earth do you find an hour with 2 children? It wasn't until my first was almost 6 months that I could predict how late she would sleep in in the morning and get up earlier. I don't know when I'll exercise when the second one gets here.

Circuit training helped me lose the weight the first time around.

Thanks all of you.

I have been working out 5 - 6 days per week for more than a month now. It's kind of frustrated that I did not see my weight going down. But I think you guys are right. I should pace out. Everything factors in to make it harder to lose fat as I am getting older (I am going to be 38 the end of year :)). I did a couple of CTX sessions only last few days. Man, those Kicks and back work really got me. I felt sore now. I hope CTX will provide me good balance of cardio and weight workout I needed.

I think cathe work out program hooked me up not only the workout itself, but also this forum. After I read the messages posted in the forum, I felt encouraged. That is the thing I need to keep me not falling out from my work out.

It is hard to find an hour to work out in my situation. I never had a cold or sick for more than 10 years. Suddenly, after I had my second child, after I stopped working out, I had a worst cold. It turned into bronchitise. It lasted more than 2 months. I told myself this was enough. If I want to take care of my children, my husband, my family, I should take care of myself first. I started working out 30 minutes everyday because the younger one could not sleep overnight. A month ago, he was teething, had 4 teeth came out at the same time!! Poor baby, he cried and woke up every hour during the night. Nothing could calm him except holding him. Just when I felt this was like the end of world, (two weeks later,) he suddenly could sleep from 8 pm - 6:30am. That is how I started to have an hour work out.

I have to admit, though I did not see my weight going down, I felt much more energetic. My clothes feel much more comfortable. I guess I got tone up.

It is hard to be a mom. Everybody expect you to be perfect. But those little ones smile will melt away all those harshness and tireness.

Thank you guys. I will keep you post of my work out progress.
