Need advise on a home gym.

Hi Educated Crowd,

My husband and I are now enjoying a weight room, and would love to know about the best home gym you can get, for your money. Our room is 10 1/2'X 10 1/2'. We live to far away from a gym to consider paying for a membership. Any advise would be appreciated. Need lots of exercises, complete total body weight lifting/training. Is there such a thing?

Could really use your expertise on this,

Janie

The BowFlex Revolution looks awesome...if I could justify the purchase I would not hesitate to get one. I'm sure if you go to their website you could get some information on it. Otherwise, I would suggest taking your dimensions and going to various sports stores and actually demo the equipment based on whether or not it will suit your needs.

Good luck...let us know what you decide.

I just spoke with a personal trainer who said the only equipment she recommends is free weights, a step and stability ball. I know that's not what you were looking for, but it's food for thought.

I would definitely get a Bowflex if I had the room and could afford it! I believe Diane Sue (WD) has one and likes it very much. And you know she's in fantastic shape!

We have a Cybex system which allows us to do 27 different weighted exercises. Truthfully, though I prefer free weights and a stability ball which we also have. The weight bench with it is very valuable. DH and DS age 18 like the Cybex. And, it does provide great variety trainng oppurtunities.

I am just a Cathe deciple.

****The best equipment for you is the equipment you will reach for the most consistently.

Thank you Everyone,

I knew I could count on you all.

The BowFlex Revolution does look great. You are right Fitxme, it is pricey. Some things I guess we just can't have.

Gymmom, Personal Trainers know their stuff. Perhaps all I need is what I have under my nose. Jump rope, treadmill, climber, mini trampoline, chin up bar, bike, oh and free weights a step and a stability ball. I think you are on to something.

Jcrew3082, and Luv2tri, thank you so very much for your suggestions.

JAFitMama, If you have a great home gym, and still prefer the old fashion way of exercising, then, I'm going for free weights, a stability ball, and a step, which of course is Cathe all the way.

You all have been very helpful, and I apprciate your help.

Have a great day,

Janie
