Nancy324: DH diet update?

Nancy, It's been a while since your DH started eating more healthfully. How is he doing at it? Did he keep up the momentum he started (eating fruits instead of junk, changing to lower fat dressing, etc.)?

Thanks for asking, Kathryn.

He seems to be doing okay. I mean, he is using more fat-free dressing than full-fat dressing (he mixes them together), and he certainly eats a lot of fruits and veggies. Also, I haven't seen him bringing bags of cookies and chocolate-covered raisins (his fav) into the house anymore. The turkey he eats for lunch is now the all-natural kind. However, although his clothes seem to be fitting less tightly, I don't perceive that he's actually gone down a size yet.

I'm still trying to work on him. He's a hopeless nosher, so the best I can do is encourage healthier noshing. I keep a lot of grapes around. I try to keep a lot of melon around. He inhales the melon. But I'm so busy with work these days I pretty much have leave him to his own devices most of the time.

I remember a few other people had the same problem. How are you other Catheites doing with your DH/SOs?

My DH is also a helpless nosher. He happens to really like the Yoplait fat free, sugar free yogurts. So keep lots of that around. I will throw in the sugar free pudding every once in a while for a treat. He also will eat cucumber as a snack. I think he tends to nosh more at work though, they have a big table full of junk that he gets into. He really is motivated though and wants to eat healthier. He joined WW and has been trying to count points, although it IS tough and he is having a hard time being consistent with it.

He joined my gym and goes with me every once in a while, but again, he isn't super consistent. I'm trying to get him to try Cardio Coach, because I really think that would make a difference in his cardio.

Ivory, wanna trade? I'm envious that your DH joined WW! The problem with my DH is that he doesn't really understand much about healthier eating and isn't interested in it. He is pretty good about getting out bike riding in the summer though. He likes to go on historic bike tours with some of the bike groups in the area, and usually does a 30-mile bike tour every weekend.
