Nancy and other NY City dwellers

Well my whirlwind NY City weekend is history. The University Club is WAYYYYY too pretentious and ostentatious for my liking. In fact, I told DH that when we come for the same event next year I'd rather spend the same $$ for a better hotel (and one that doesn't make its female guests pay $20.00 to use a fitness room that has a few treadmills and teeny tiny dumbells x( ) and not be asked to use the servants' entrance because he took his tie off before we entered the lobby at 10:50 pm - ugh!

But BLUE HILL on the other hand was SPECTACULAR!!! The atmosphere, the service, the food, everything about it was stunning. And if any of you go - David was our server and he was extraordinary. I had the bass, DH had the guinea hen and both were outstanding. Dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine, salad, entree, cappacinos and dessert (I started with the bread pudding, but it had too much chocolate for me, so DH switched with me and I had his souffle - too good for words) was $180.00 - which I thought was quite good.

I ate really bad - and way too much - all weekend, so got to get back on track tomorrow - but I wanted to thank you all for your input and share my thoughts!

Wow, Lorrie. Sounds like a lot of fun. Where is Blue Hill located? Did you get to do anything/see anything else?

As for the hotel and gym, that rots!! Definitely give a yell here next year before you come in--I am almost certina that some of the gyms here have a weekend "pass" type of deal. Plus, some of the larger hotel chains either have nice gyms or have deals set up with local gyms. Either that, or I'd recommend skipping the gym altogether and walking around the city--you see more and it can be exhausting, from walking on concrete. Or go for a jog in Central Park or walk around the park on a Sunday afternoon (it's always mobbed).

Anyhow, glad you enjoyed it overall. :)
