My whiney I've got a cold post

Just a whine here...home with a cold for three days now and haven't worked out. Considering working out today, cause I'm just congested and not virusy feeling so far, but I have this long history of pushing myself too fast and getting sicker as a result. So I'm trying to resist but meantime going nuts!

Sorry for the whine! Had to get this off my chest, though it's silly and insignificant in the long scheme of things!

So sorry! I'm right there with ya! cold is subsiding now, but I still don't feel well. How to work out when I can't breathe?

I'm so sorry you're still sick. Colds seem to last forever, don't they? And each phase seems to be more miserable than the one before. It's just my opinion, but I still think it's a bit early to be working out.

Have you tried Sudoku puzzles? I find they are good for whatever ails me. The hours just seem to whiz by. Here's a link: http://www.sudoku.com/ Just try an "easy" one to see if it appeals to you.

I have to spend most of the afternoon having my hair cut and highlighted today. Then off to a holiday party with DH's cycling group. I will not know a soul there, but maybe it will be a good opportunity to make some new friends who are interested in fitness, even if I don't understand the whole concept of exercising outdoors! :+ You like exercising outdoors, right? Since you have nothing better to do (sorry bout that), do you have a few minutes to explain a bit of the appeal? It's probably just a personality thing, I'm guessing.

Sending well wishes your way,
Nancy

Hi Nancy. Don't know if you're referring to me or Ivory, but yes, I like exercising outdoors (specifically biking), but I don't like biking in the city. When I did bike, in NJ, I loved the peacefulness of it--there were lots of rural roads past horse farms and wildlife preserves, so it was just beautiful. I also just love fresh air and sunshine--I don't feel right unless I go out every day. I don't know why that is, but I've always been that way. I get cabin fever easily.

Have been trying to stay off the internet while I'm home sick--it tends to give me a headache. Thanks for the sympathy! I'm such a baby about colds.

Sorry bout that BB, I didn't realize you were trying to avoid the internet.

You are reminding me that I enjoy bike riding whenever I go in the Poconos. It's just the city bike riding that I can't stand. Maybe I'm not as at two with nature as I thought I was. Thanks. That gives me a topic of conversation for the party.

Well, you know me, always having to give advice even if no one listens. So here's my last bit: send SO out to buy some fresh oranges or tangerines, and force yourself to eat them. Okay, advice over.

Feel better.

Thanks--I've been eating grapefruits and oranges like crazy and also taking Airborne, which is 1000 mg vitamin C.

I really hate biking in the city, too. I don't find it relaxing at all. Enjoy your party.
