My trainers advise is working!!!! CARDIO, Cardio, Cardio!!!!

As some of you know I met w/a trainer last week. Although we haven't started our training sessions yet, he took some info, did a test to measure my resting metabolic rate and gave me some advice for the interim until he could put the full plan together.

He told me to do cardio, cardio, cardio! So..... it has only been a week and I have listened for the most part. I have totally backed off on the weights as far as # of days a week. The crazy thing is I have been travelling on biz and also missed a few workouts.

Well... long story short.... I can tell I am losing weight. Even people at work asked today (lots of them). I can actually start to see my muscles in my arms (haven't seen them in awhile.) I am not just losing water weight...I am losing the fat and am feeling more toned! I refuse to get on the scale yet as I know it will just depress me. I can tell by my clothes though as I am almost officially in my 8's. I went shopping yesterday and bought all 8's. 2 wks ago I was mostly in 10's and only a few 8's. :)

Yipppppeeeee! I am sooooo happy as I have been working so hard for so long doing BFL. Looks like I may have just needed a change. I guess I have nothing to lose but to listen to him for awhile, heh??

I still have so far to go but it really feels good to see a difference for ONCE!!!

p.s. I have also been eating really good so that probably has something to do with it too!!!
 
Way to go Fitnut! I hope you didn't buy too much stuff. You may have to go shopping again for 6's! Keep up the hard work!

You say you have backed off the weights. If you don't mind me asking how many days were you doing weight training before and how many days now? Just curious and I bet others will be too.

Yep,what he told you works because of the simple equation - calories in calories out. Bump up your activity level and you WILL lose weight.
Just Do It! :)
 
Good for you! I know how desperatey you wanted to get this baby weight off.All you need is to see results and Im sure everything else will fall into place.

Congratulations FitNut!! I'm forever struggling with 10#'s here or 5# there and can relate to the sense of accomplishment you feel for having slimmed down. If you don't mind my asking, what type of cardio work have you been doing and how much time have you spent doing it? TIA

I went and bought 12's 2 weeks ago and they're already too big. I didn't even think about that! DH wants to choke me! :eek: Oh well.....
