I got a call from my son's daycare on Wed around 10:15 that he fell on the playground and that they weren't sure what he did to his arm. So I got off the phone with them, called his dr and made an appt and went and picked him up at daycare. We were at the dr by 10:35. He was hysterical - I felt so bad for him. He went for x-rays and turns out he broke his forearm in 2 different spots. So off to the big hospital we went - we were sent to orthopedics. He has a splint from his finger to about 3 inches above his elbow. His arm is wrapped in cotton, then plaster, then an ace bandage but it is hard like a cast. He goes in on Sept 16 to have that taken off and then he'll get a real cast on the forearm.
To make matters worse, he just started soccer 2 weeks ago so now that is on hold. I doubt he'll be all better before soccer ends.
This is so NOT what I needed. LOL. Picture a very, very active 4 year old boy with a cast on his arm.
Oh and if you're wondering how he broke it here ya go: rather then sliding down the firepole on the playground equipment, my superman thought he could just jump - which was 6 feet up and he landed on his arm. I knew it was only a matter of time with him. I doubt this will stop him from doing it again though. ((SIGH)).
