I am sooooo excited! My mom originally got me into Taebo about 10 years ago, which was the beginning of my passion to exercise. Well, when I got Direct Tv I discovered Cathe, and I have been raving on and on about it to my mom. She purchased a Step a few months ago and a couple of beginning DVDs after doing the Firm workouts for years. I have loaned her KPC and Low Max, and she is loving it and wanting more. She told me that she really wants to do more weights like I do. She has Cardio & Weights and is wanting more advanced weight work.

For her 47th birthday on January 4, and I just ordered her the Troy Lite Barbell set! I am dying to tell her, but I will try to just be quiet and let her be surprised when the UPS man comes to her house.

I just love getting others excited about weight training! Any suggestions on what Cathe strength DVDs to recommend she purchase? She said she doesn't really want to do circuit workouts. I am going to loan her my Muscle Max DVD to try while I am doing my P90X rotation.

When the newness wears off from the DVD's, and she is more fit, you might want to tell her that circuit w/o's are recommended along with strength training, endurance, cardio, and of course eating cleanly. Getting the muscles confused, is so beneficial for the body.

Tell her congratulations on her decision to be more fit. Good for her, and good luck.

Congrats to you and your mom! I am going to turn 47 this coming year, but for Christmas I bought myself the Gym Styles and The Classics. I have everything else, so am awaiting whatever new series Cathe comes up with for my birthday.

I finally broke down and ordered the Troy Lite set, with some add-on weights. I really enjoy it; it is so much better than the odd set I had.

I would suggest The Pyramids for your mom. Easy to follow and modify as needed, and you can grow with them. Or, Pure Strength is great too, as it is full of pointers. Can't comment on Gym Styles yet because I haven't used them, but they get rave reviews. Having said all that, my first Cathe's were from the Body Blast series: Supersets and Push & Pull. They were a good intro after using The Firm.

How Exciting Monica that your Mom is enjoying Cathe right along with you! I have the Troy set and absolutely love it. What a great gift to her. I don't think you can go wrong with any of Cathe's workouts, but I would say that the PS Series or CTX would be two sets she would like. (or, S&H, Gym Styles) Like I said, anything! I can't believe that I ordered the weight set yesterday around 4pm in the afternoon, and my mom called me at 2pm today to thank me! That is quick delivery. I went with their standard shipping. I'm amazed. She was so excited! I am going to loan her Muscle Max, and also recommend CTX and Pyramids. I really like Gym Styles, however I do not think that she is ready for that yet.
