My iPod died

I am soooo mad, I got the darn thing about 2 years ago but I have only used it the past 4 weeks for Cardio Coach.

Two days ago I tried to skip to another challenge during CC and it wouldn't do anything, can't go to menu, can't turn it off. For a while it made this weird rattling noise when I tried to click on the wheel.

I turned the hold button on and off a gazillion times, pressed the Menu and Select button together just as often, nothing happens. I went into iTunes, deleted everything and downloaded it again. It will load onto the iPod but then it gets stuck when I have to chose language.

I know we have some technical wizzes on the forum - does anyone have any ideas? I can't do my workouts without my iPod - I am addicted to Cardio Coach

I've been thinking of caving and getting the iPOD but the more posts I read like this the more I think I'm better off sticking with sansa.......

I'm getting my Dhs Ipod fixed now. He is giving it to me and he bought a new one. His is also about 2 years old. So yay I can try out cardio coach :)
There are fix it places you can send it to. My DH chose this one because of location. (below) They said they think they know the problem cause its common. It sounds like yours is doing the same thing his was. They do a diagnostic for free but if you aren't local you have to ship to them and pay return shipping which was about $7-$8 both ways for us.

I would be in a total PANIC!!! I cannot be without my beloved Sean.. er.. Cardio Coach workouts ;)

I have the 8GB iPod Nano. It froze once right after I got it but I've never had another problem with it. Mine is about 2 years old and I've heard that that's when they start to go. I've thought about buying a new one now just so I'll have it when mine goes because seriously, I'd PANIC if I couldn't do my CC workouts!

I know, Michele!!!! Imagine my misery, no Cardio Coach yesterday and today. I am suffering serious withdrawl symptoms :p

I have an appointment with the Genius Bar in the Apple store at 11:20 am today, I hope they can fix it. The darn thing keeps making those funny clicking noises now, uggghhhh.

I feel your pain:( Last Friday I was doing CCV8 for the first time when my headphone wires caught on my elliptical handlebars and my iPod went flying. It worked for another 10 min then froze up completely and would not reset. I have a 1st generation 40GB and this has happened before. I let it sit for awhile and it did finally reset. Yesterday I gave CCV8 another try and it was GREAT!! However, I taped down my iPod to the console just in case:rolleyes:

I plan to buy a new one but as Vrinda advised, I'm waiting for the new releases coming out in Sept. For now, I'm going to limp along with mine and I am making CD back-ups to use in my stereo just in case.

Your hard drive may be damaged if your iPod will not reset after a period of time and will not download. You may want to visit their website for toubleshooting. Good luck!

Which IPod do you have? When I was shopping for an IPod in an Apple store a couple of years ago I wasn't sure which one to get - the Nano or the full-size. The Apple representative asked me what I would be using it for and when I told him I was using it for workouts/running he told me to get the Nano. He said the full-size IPod is similar to a computer with a hard drive and that having it "bounce" around during a workout would jumble the inside components too much and it would break. I bought the Nano and haven't had one problem. My husband has the Nano as well and also hasn't had any problems.

I feel your pain! I would be lost without my IPod. I have never run without it and if it broke - I would probably not be able to run!!!
