So a month ago I posted this thread http://www.thecathenation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=250332 Have to share the pathetic yet humorous update.
No the deed is still not filed, but the real estate company working with the bank has listed it for sale for a paultry $215,000. (4 years ago this house was offered for half a million.)
So today this adorable family came by and was really interested in buying it and even doing all the rehab work. Then they started checking into needed inspections. Remember I said the pipes have burst for each of the last 3 winters? All of the pipes have to be pulled and replaced. Not a problem - a plumber could easily do that.
Problem is that in order to have the septic system even inspected, you need to have running water going thru the house. So someone would have to buy the house, replace all the pipes, run the water and THEN see if the septic system works. And if it does not (I know it's failing but I'm not going to tell this screwey bank that) you're looking at another expense of about $35,000. Anyone wanta' buy it? AARRGGHH!
