Hey all! This winter NewsWeek wrote a story about Grand Rapids Michigan being a "dead and dying city on life support." An even planner in GR did this video two weeks ago to kind of counter the article. Every time I watch it it makes me smile and happy. It's so "Americana" to me and an amazing show of community. I live in Grand Rapids, the city gives much creative licensing to Rob Bliss but they turn down other opportunities that would be good for the region.

I used to live in GR. I know he's kind of controversial at times but I just love the video.

The Mayor and City Commisioners give Rob the key of the city but turn down a valid request for a motorcycle weekend in downtown with bikers that would book hotels in all regions of the area. Rob flew paper airplanes over ArtPrize one year then did the water slide on a steep hill, fortunately, right behind a large hospital.

There is still a lot here for us Michigan girls to be proud of. Did you see the Chrysler commercial with Eminem during the super bowl? That one made me cry.

Yes, both the video and the commercial make us proud. Yes, the "Imported from Detroit," stuff sold out within minutes after the airing from superbowl.
