Muscle Max & Muscle Endurance workouts vs. Body Pump

Hi, Cathe.

First of all, thank you so much for your answer to an earlier post of mine. Thanks to your DVDs and tapes I have of yours, I am getting into the best shape of my life. On that quest, I have another question.

I read in the Behind the Scenes link how you got into shape post-pregnancy and in prep for Intensity Series. I noted you that you said you taught a step interval class, a kickbox class, and two Body Pump classes and did some other supplemental workouts on your own. My question is this, can you recommend a rotation of your workouts (I have all of Body Blast and Intensity, Slow & Heavy, Gym Style, etc.) that would approximate your workout prep for the Intensity Series? I don't have access to a Body Pump Class, so I am wondering (based on asking individuals who have attended and/or taught this class) if Muscle Max or Muscle Endurance is an equivalent workout?

Also, in your Lo Max (which I have), is this considered an "interval" step workout? If not, which of your is?

So finally, I was thinking that if I incorporated your Kick Max and KPC as a kickbox workout, did LoMax at least once per week (in addition to other cardio) and Muscle Endurance and Muscle Max (as a stand-in for Body Pump), this would be close. And, of course, do the workouts in the Intensity Series.

Any thoughts or suggestions you have regarding this would be so greatly apprecaited. Your announcement was so exciting! What wonderful news!

Thank you so much.

Hi Ann! Power Hour is the closest workout that I make that is like Body Pump classes. Next in line would be Muscle Endurance. Muscle Max uses heavier weights than those two DVD's do. CTX Upper Body combined with Leaner Legs would also give you the feel of an endurance workout.

Low Max can have moments of an interval feeling in it but it is not considered the classic step interval workout the way Imax 1, 2, and 3 are.

A one week rotation example based on what you DO have would be:

Mon: KPC
Tues: Low Max
Wed: Muscle Endurance
Thurs: 40 minute interval run
Fri: Kickmax
Sat: Supersets
Sun: Off

Thanks, Cathe! I really appreciate the recommendations. I think I'll will get Power Hour and incorporate that as well.

I am also going to check out Leaner Legs and the other DVD you mentioned.

I am so excited to try this rotation!

All my best,

Ann Risler
