Muscle Cramps

I have a horrible problem with muscle cramps, usually in my feet and toes. (Always thought it had something to do with those darn high heels I'm addicted to.) However, since starting STS (only thru Meso 1, week 1) I've been getting terrible calf cramps. As in, jump out of bed from a sound sleep calf cramps :( Do any of you get these and is there anything I can do to stop them? I take calcium/magnesium and a few B vitamins and it doesn't seem to help.

Potassium can also help prevent cramps. A lack of water and salt can contribute to them, so make sure you're drinking enough.

When my younger sister was pregnant, her doc recommended Gatorade to help with cramps.

get your

potassium levels checked. Usually a potassium deficiency can cause that problem, but it could be some other problem too. Have you tried a nice warm bath before bed? Also, extra stretching for that part of the body. I hope you feel better.

Aside from potassium, magnesium usually helps with cramps. Our food is notoriously depleted of magnesium.

I get leg cramps if I don't take additional magnesium.

I don't know why this is, but in the past when I have been working out and eating a very low carb diet, the cramps were at their worst. I found the potassium helped a lot, so in a pinch at the gym, I would drink a gatorade and it seemed to help, but I don't like drinking calories, so I would only do that when I was out of the house with little other options.
