Mr. Rogers Died :-(

I was so sad when I heard this.

I feel like I've lost an old family friend! I grew up watching him, and learned so much fun stuff. His movies about how things are made were my favorite!

My parents always tease me about the way I said crayons-- "crans" (like the begining of CRANberry instead of "cray-ons"). They say "you learned that from Mr Rogers, He says it like that." I still have to stop and think before I say the word and make an effort to say it correctly.

I'm 3 days shy of 34 but I can still remember the words to his songs:
"I like to take my time"
"You can never go down the drain"
and of course "Won't you be my neighbor?"

Maybe I'll start saying "crans" again as my way of honoring the memory of this man who helped shape my world.

Hi Nadine! I was also sad to hear that Mr. Rogers died. You could just tell that he was truely a sweet decent human being who loved children. I know my own children watched him for a little while and then grew a little bored with him for more catchier cartoon stuff (much to my disappointment). But he was so genuine. He made you feel that he really cared about children which he did! My prayers go out to his family! We need more neighbors like him in all of our neighborhoods!

I think it would be really cool if someone had the puppets do a service for him; The trolley could arrive very slowly, King Friday the 13th could give the eulogy...I wish I could remember all their names. When my son was little he didn't like a lot of TV; even Sesame Street scared him, but he always adored Mister Rogers. There's no one like him. He will be missed.

I was too old to watch Mr. Rogers when he came out, but I'm sad to hear he's dead. Another vegetarian bites the dust!
