Movie: Gone Baby Gone

Has anyone seen this movie? I saw it a week ago and I'm still thinking about it. It's about doing the right thing, and what that thing is, depending on where you stand. The guy at the center of the story tried to do the right thing and wound up ostracized, wondering if maybe the people on the other side were right. I think I'd have done what he did and, like him, would come to regret it. The actress who played the trashy mother of the missing girl got a lot of attention, and an Oscar nomination, but Casey Affleck's beautifully understated performance (also nominated) is what really sticks with me. If you're looking for a good movie that will really get to you, check it out.

DW and I really enjoyed this as well. A good way to tell how much or how little you enjoy a movie is the amount of conversation it stirs up after you've seen it. We always discuss this movie with each other!

I watched it probably 6 months ago and still think about it.
Although it seemed like he did the right thing from a legal standpoint, I couldn't help but wonder at the end IF his choice was the moral one.
I still don't know what the *RIGHT* answer was. It definitely makes you think! And, wow! Ben did a great job directing Casey! Those Affleck boys are talented!

OMG I LOVE this movie! Casey Affleck was brilliant in it. It was such an upsetting story but I loved the dialogue it created between me and the other people I watched it with after the movie was over.

Great movie, great plot, great script, and amazing acting. Two thumbs up from me!

P.S. Did you know Casey's brother Ben directed it?!? IMHO, Ben should stick with directing and let his brother do the work in front of the camera. ;)

I saw it, and really liked it.
It does make one consider what the "right thing is." Just because something is the legal right, does it make it the moral right.
I couldn't help feeling sorry for the girl in the end.

I agree: Ben's done some not-bad stuff (and some really horrid stuff, noteably with Jennifer L.) but he really does seem a better director than actor (though his turn in the short "I'm f***** Ben Affleck" isn't bad, LOL!). And let's not forget he's a talented screenwriter as well.
