movement

Since about 14 weeks I could feel movement. I guess since I was pregnant before I knew what I was "feeling". All those little flutters. I was starting to get worried b/c I haven't felt anything since Friday. Well I'm back at work today (Tuesday) and oh boy is the baby active. Whew!!! I was getting a bit scared. Seems like I feel it the most when I am at work (I sit at a desk). Most of the time I've very active and sitting at work is actually my relaxing time.

That's so great! I personally am not sure if I've felt the baby or not. It seems like yes, from time to time, but the movement is still hard to figure out exactly sometimes where it's coming from, does that make sense. It's still a little early, but I'm so anxious!!! I can't wait to get there! :)

Hi Dana! It is really scary when you don't feel the little one move. I felt the baby first move at 14 weeks too and then did not notice any movement for almost a week. Actually it was very sporadic, maybe once every 3 or 4 days from the 15th week on. However, starting last week the baby has been moving on a consistent basis, or at least enough for me to know she is doing okay. She must be big enough for me to feel the kicks. I notice her moving while I am sitting at my desk too. Happily, I can already tell she is a lot more active than DS was. Your baby should be big enough soon to feel him/her move all the time. To me that is the best part of pregnancy.

Hi Dana.

I have had a few occasions where it seemed like the baby hadn't moved in a long time and I was starting to worry...but soon after the worry began, I would feel a kick and all would be right with the world again. :)

i too went thru the same thing. i felt him moving much sooner than the first time and then i wouldn't feel anything for awhile. i remember going for my u/s and you could tell he was active but i couldn't feel anything. now that i am further along i feel him very consistently. more so than ever with my first ds...hang in there. the further along you get the more consistently you will feel the kicks!

Hi Dana,

I've been feeling my little one move since the 13th week. It started as the butterfly tickles, and is now very pronounced thumps and bumps. The bumps are strong enough to feel on the outside, now. This is definitely much earlier than with my first baby. But even so, there are still long periods of time when I don't feel anything. At these early dates there's still lots of room in the abdomen for the baby to move freely without bumping into things.

Like you, I definitely feel more movement when I'm relaxed - especially at 2am! This one's going to be keeping me awake at night, I have a feeling ;(

Take care!
Sandra
