mounted pullup bar

ahh, I see the new Insanity Asylum will (probably have) pullups. I really need to get a pullup bar now the problem is the door in my workout room is too wide for those door bars. so I was looking for ways to maybe put one on the wall and found this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003V5JCOG...e=394997&creativeASIN=B003V5JCOG&linkCode=asn

does anyone have one like this? my biggest concern is making sure it's safe, any handyman tips to make sure it's installed safe?

That pull up bar seems as if it will work jus fine. My DH made a pull up up bar for me from the Home Depot. He used piping and u connectors to make it. I mounted mine on my ceiling (I also use it to anchor my TRX) but it just as well could have been mounted over the door.

We also made our own pull-up bar a few years ago very cheaply using materials found at home depot. I posted on how we did it:

Anyway, just wanted to give you a few ideas on how to make your own.

The one that you found looks nice, though. However, are there really studs above your door to mount it?
