Most effective workouts for a busy schedule???

Hello ladies!
Well Christmas break is over and its back to nursing school I go. This year my schedule is very crazy and very time consuming. Last semester I found that I wasn't able to workout as much as I usually do but I still managed to get in 3-4 days. I usually like to work out 5-7 days a week one day doing yoga. This semester is going to be even busier. My question to you all is: What Cathe DVDs would be the most effective for me to do if I can only work out at the most 3 days a week?????????? Thanks so much for your help!!

IMO, any circuit workout. That's what I did over the busy holiday season. I usually like to separate cardio and weights but I knew I couldn't get in three days of weight training per week with all that was going on. Circuit training was the answer. Plus, I noticed I lost some weight because combining the two burned more calories.

It would be helpful to know what your goals are (fat/weight loss? muscle gains? maintenance?), and what it is you like to do (i.e., step, kb, etc.)...

Also, when you say 3-4 days, about how long can you devote to each session?

I dont really want to loose weight, i just want to maintain what i have and build more muscle. I love all of cathe's videos!! I am a huge fan of Step and circuit training. I also love weight training, kickboxing, and well I guess I love it all. I just wanted some suggestions for what would be the most effective workouts is since I can only work out like 3 days a week. I was thinking circuit training b/c i know it burns a lot of calories, and you are getting aerobics and weight training at one time. I can devote about an hour to each workout session. Thanks for you help.

It does sound like CTX (Cross-Train Express) could be the ticket for you. It's a little older and the cardio is high impact so you need to take those into consideration, but the workouts are designed to do what you need in a shorter time frame. The U/B work (at the end of each workout and then compiled separately) is just fantastic.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice Marie. I was looking at that DVD online and thought it would be a good choice too. I am going to purchase it today. Thanks again!! :7

There are also quite a few shorter premixes on Cathe's new series too. Both cardio and combos.

That is what I do when I am short on time or energy or coming back from being sick. And definitely while trying to fit everything in during the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Hope it all works out for you.

As much as I love circuit workouts, the CTX series is my most used series. I use it all the time. Very effective for fat burning and muscle definition. Good choice! I really hope she makes another CTX type series this year.

Great!! I bought CTX the other day so I am really excited to get it in the mail. I watched the video previews online and I really liked it so we will see. Thanks again for all the advice!
