Morning exercise

Hi all!
I am new here. I am just about 6 weeks pregnant with my third child (I have two girls ages 2 and 4). With my first pregnancy I was able to keep exercising but that all stopped once my dd arrived. I was a slug straight through to my second pregnancy and beyond. Finally, almost a year ago, I was able to get back into regular exercise 5 days a week at 5:30 in the morning. I feel really good about it.

The bummer is that I'm starting to hit the exhaustion/nausea of the first trimester. This morning's workout was miserable. I'm not sure if I should keep at it and just try to do something, even just a little yoga, so I can keep up the morning routine. Or, should I give it up for a while and take the extra sleep? Will I lose the routine if I do that? It was so hard to get into the habit. Are any of you morning exercisers? Have you managed to keep it going through the pregnancy? I know I won't keep it up if I have to do it at any other time of the day and I'd really like to be more active with this baby. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks,
Lisa

HI! I know it's hard. I'm preg with my second and I am a morning exerciser, I know that if I don't do it in the morning I probably won't later in the day, it's weird to me to do it later in the day, ya know. It's so important to keep exercising. Do not give in to stopping or you may never go back. I do it no matter how tired or nausious I get because I always feel so much better after. Then you have the rest of the day to relax. Although I'm sure your lil ones keep you busy as my 8 month old does. Try drinking a glass of water and having a couple crackers or a piece of fruit like a banana beforehand. But if your body is reacting in a negative way from exercising then take it easy. But I have been doing the Classics at least 5 times a week.;-) I worked out up til I delivered with my first and I was able to get around right after no problem. As well as losing the weight fast.:D Keep up with it!! Good luck...

Hi Lisa!

I typically do my excercise in the morning, but I'm finding that once I'm in bed and sleeping (no matter how early I hit the sack), I really really can't drag myself out in the morning until the last minute. Like you, my workouts did not have the same satisfaction if I did. So lately I haven't forced myself, especially since I feel so so tired. But this is my first baby, and I don't have the restrictions on the rest of the day that it sounds like you have.

I know it's hard especially since you are so happy you finally got into a routine. I would say though that your body is telling you that you need rest. Maybe try to do every other day?

Good luck!

Hey, WELCOME!! by the way!

Thanks for your help and suggestions, ladies. I think I will try to keep doing something each morning, whenever possible. Even if it is just doing some yoga or something else non-threatening. Hopefully that will keep me in the swing of things and I can pick back up in a few weeks.

Sadly, I didn't make it this morning. I slept really poorly last night and couldn't get myself out of bed this morning. Perhaps every other day isn't a bad idea either!

Thanks!
