'Mornin' August-Hatesville Feb 22nd

Good morning August! Thought I'd end my evening by saying good morning to you! How's the construction?

I haven't been on the boards for 2 days and I feel so out of the loop. I'll go back and read the posts and give everyone a proper good morning tomorrow morning (thursday).

I'll make this short 'til then. I just bought the March/April edition of Muscle & Fitness Hers and it's a fabulous issue. Tons of good articles and nutrition tips. I used to read this pre-kids and loved it.

I gave up sugar for Lent, even though I'm Lutheran (yeah, sure, are you comin' over for supper then?) And I gave up piles. I'm a pile person and it drives my husband nuts. He's a neat freak and I'm more laid back. Anyways, it's good for me not to have piles. It forces me to go through the mail and get organized.

I'll be back tomorrow morning. I've got a TON of computer work to do and I'm sure I'll procrastinate and head on over to see what's going on.

Have a great day August!
Terri

Good morning!!

Terri, we've missed you around here! How's your website coming along? I love your idea of giving up piles for lent. I'm also a pile person and it can be an overwhelming thing. Maybe we should start a Pile Person check-in:p. I've actually been trying to work on pile avoidance for a few months now. One of my strategies has been to go from my mailbox straight to my garbage/recycling area. I've gotten to where I don't even bring catalogs into the house anymore unless I think I want to order something. It has helped, by the way.

August, holy mole, I cannot believe I'm here before you! I'm actually up really early this morning. I took something for my cold and it knocked me on my patootie but man oh man, it was the best night's sleep I've had in ages. This bodes well for you:* --So what's the Stalk Market report for today?:p :7

I'll be back later. I need to put the coffee on and start breakfast for my darlin DH. I'll BBL:* :*

What's for breakfast, Michele? I had a slice of cornbread with some raspberry jam just to get me moving earlier. Later I'll have a WW english muffin with almond butter.

Terri, you need to be more disciplined about your posting girl. You'll never keep up if you don't check in every day! I did a double take when I saw you were giving up piles. I thought you meant the hemerrhoid things at first. Then I thought you meant the pile squats. Then I got what you meant. Can a borrow your neat freak DH for a week or two to show my DH how it's done?

I'm at work and it looks to be a busy day, so I'll try to get back later when I'm home. Today's workout is to be IMAX 3.

Mmmmmmmmmm...cornbread:9 . I love cornbread.

I had a poached egg and 2 slices of WW 5 seed bread -- a new bread that my favorite grocery store just started offering. It's loaded with flax, pumpkin, sesame, poppy, and sunflower seeds. The seeds are embedded all over the exterior crust and throughout the bread. It's so yummy! It's not terribly moist but it has so much texture that you don't really miss the moisture.

>>I did a double take when I saw you were giving up piles. I thought you meant the hemerrhoid things at first. Then I thought you meant the pile squats. Then I got what you meant.<<

ROTFLMAO!!! The same thought occurred to me to.:7

I haven't been able to work out with this cold. It's beginning to feel better but my head and chest are still congested. I don't know if I can breathe well enough to get through cardio. Oh darn!! I will try, though.

Hey haters, are any of you thinking about going on the Cathe Road Trip? Do you suppose us Haters are welcome:eek: :p

How can they NOT want us?:+

Morning all. Gotta make this quick and I'll BBL.

Michele - no to the road trip. I am definitely by no means fit, I would be laughed out of the place (or at least be stared at a lot). That bread sounds really good. I'll have to see if we have it around here.

Robin - IMAX3? You're insane.

Terri - hey stranger. Giving up piles? HAAAA!!!

Mariah - I'll keep your family in my prayers.

August - where or where are you today?

Arista - good for you for picking up the pup.

Jen - hope you have time to get in a workout after your day today.

Last night I did the 49 min timesaver from B&G. The abs in that one are hard. Couldn't do 1/2 of the exercises. Not feeling so good today - sore throat, sinus, etc.

DH has archery tonight so I don't know if I'll get anything in. At the most, I hope to get in 30 min on the elliptical.

We're having a luncheon today - there goes the diet.

BBL

Dana - please don't think that the road trip is full of uber-fit, fitness competitor types. Last time there were all shapes and sizes and NOBODY laughed at anyone. Everyone just had a fabulous time and the camaraderie and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Please reconsider.

I'm having a really super craptacular day and I'm full of hate, so I may be back a lot. I picked the wrong week to give up cookiesx(

Good morning, Dana and Shelley!

Dana, I think the cold and sinus thing is going around. Just about everyone I know is suffering to some degree. It would be very hard to get through a workout like B&G if you have a cold, so don't judge yourself too harshly.

I saw pictures from the last road trip so I know for a fact that all body types were represented, and several attendees were overweight. I'm thinking about going and believe me, no one would ever mistake me for a HOT babe--lol! And no one is going to stare at you!! Don't be silly or I'll have to pin your ears back (what the nuns used to threaten us with when I was in grade school) :p. Your worth isn't measured by your appearance. You've been a big boost to me and many others on this forum and we love you just the way you are. If we both go we can hide in the back together, kay? I mean, looks aside, I just suck at cardio, plain and simple, and I will not be able to keep up. If people don't like it then:p :p :p on them!

{{{{{Shelley}}}}}, I'm sorry you're having a craptacular day. I wish I knew how to turn your craptacular into spectacular. Oh geez, we have to find you a good cookie substitute. You gave up chocolate, too, right? You're making this very hard. I guess you could always sip tea with honey, or you can just come here and we'll give you {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and kisshies:* :* :* :* :* :D

You know, I've been thinking...if worse comes to worse I can always serve as the water girl while everyone else is doing cardio. Lemon wedge, anyone?

Hi ladies -

I have been a little out of the loop the last few days. Busy at work and nauseous all day. But feeling better today, so I took at 20 min walk this morning and did some squats, lunges and core work. This is my new plan (since I don't feel up to doing a whole video yet) - walk around the block 20 min, then do a few toning exercises, alternating upper and lower body every other day. So tomorrow I will do some chest and back after my walk. Sort of like 5 Factor Fitness, except I make it up as I go along :)

I need to catch up on all of the posts. I am staying late at work tonight so I should have some time later.

This weekend I am going to Austin and San Antonio. My sister is flying into Austin from Boston and we are meeting up with my Dad and stepmom for lunch in Austin. Then we are driving with my sister to San Antonio to see my mom and stepdad. It will be good to see everyone. It should be fun to see my sister and talk about the baby with my family.

I can pretty much guarantee that once you get into that room full of Catheites, with CATHE HERSELF (and Cedie) leading the way, LIVE, the energy and joy will allow you to keep up no problem:)

Dana, I had to miss the last road trip. I was registered, and reservations etc. My mom fell and ended up in ICU that weekend. I refuse to miss another. I had the same worries as you, but was reassured by others that size does not matter. If I get to this one (I hope, I hope, I hope) I plan on being sane and taking a break if I can't keep up with the fitter crowd. Besides, we could drive down together!

Shelley, hugs to poor miserable cookieless you. Can you try visualizing a cookie? I'm visualizing a bag of peanut M&M's right now.

Oy, back to work.

Good mornin' gals -

Shelley - I agree. Its been an awful week to try to give anything up. Between TTOM, my job interview today, and the potential of being laid off from my current job due to lack of funding (and oh yeah, it snowed again :( ), I need some frikkin cookies. :p I made some sugar free chocolate pudding (no sugar!) last night to quell my chocolate craving. It was pretty good. I put some sliced almonds on top.

I hope your craptacular day goes by fast Shelley.

Michele - You're such a little inspiration on the board today! I love all your smileys. I'd love to go on the road trip, but I can't afford to take any time off work. Well, that's not entirely true. I'd absolutely love to go. What's the deal with it? Do you 'go on the road' with Cathe? Or do you just join her in a workout at the closest location to your house? Think she'll come to Seattle?

Dana - I agree. You need to zip your lip when it comes to putting yourself down. If you're doing 48 minutes of cardio with an impending cold, you're doing good girl! Knock it off. And who gives a rip how you look? Everyone is going to be more worried about themselves than anyone else. So go show 'em some moves! Work it!

Terri - Have a nice day on the computer. I know how that is. Let me know if you want to me to look at your website... post the link. I'd love to peruse it.

Diane - Sorry about the yucky tummy-ness. Good job on the workout plan though... that sounds perfect! You've definitely got to adjust it to your taste when you're feeling yucky. That sounds like a fun weekend - at least you can talk baby-talk!

Hugs to everyone! I'd better get ready for my interview.... No workout yet, but I'll probably get one in this afternoon.

:*

Arista - you fly to Philly, drive to New Jersey and work out with Cathe and the crew an insane number of times in two days, laugh more than you thought possible, make lifelong friends and many great memories.:)

Hi, guys!

I'm just back from work and ready to get myself into bed....but how could I resist dropping by?

And what a nice title for today! :7

I was out from kind of early bullet walking here and there, but I managed to do a section of Core Max before I zipped off.

Okay, that was exciting. Anyway....!

Arista - Just be glad your scale tells you your body fat % in your favor! Mine tells me I'm 26%, that jerk! I don't think I've ever seen it under 25% Come to think of it, I haven't seen the entire scale in MONTHS....That is so great of you to rescue that dog! I'll bet his owner was so grateful. He could have been easily hit by a car. How good of you!

Michele - How you feeling? What are you thinking trying to do cardio in your state of health?! You need to take advantage of your cold - it's the least it could do for you!...Glad to hear your ants have gone home. What a relief. Did you ever find the source?

Kick Max leg drills are great! It's more of a challenge to keep your leg in the air than anything. I don't know if it were the leg drills or the L&G standing section, but to my surprise, I've got DOMS today.

I have so many adult friends who are TOTALLY into the Nintendo Animal World : Wild World. So it's not just me LOL. You should definitely get one. In fact, they have Wi-Fi in it, so if you got one, I could have my character go visit your village. And you could come and visit mine, too. Isn't that amazing?! I had a friend visit me while we were at work (he was actually sitting next to me on the sofa at the time) and we had a blast visiting each other's villages. He gave me a cute spotted mushroom to display in my little house. Later I realized he'd taken one of my rare purple rose hybrids and that mushroom was his way of thanking me for the exchange, that sneak.

Mr. Raccoon is in charge of the Stalk Market prices, and his store was closed today for renovations. He should be up and running tomorrow, though, thank goodness, as I've got a lot of fruit to sell him.

LOL about you and "by age 50" silliness...as if that's supposed to imply that you are aged or something. Anyway, I'm so glad to hear that you were able to get such good sleep.

>I can't remember but I'm sure you could find out if you Google King Cake.

Something about that sentence totally cracks me up. Google King Cake. That's fun to say. Google King Cake.

By the way, the construction drilling lasted like ten minutes. Go figure. They are totally slacking or something.

>today is all about ME, and I'm not talking about Muscle Endurance

LMAO.

Dana - Don't you even dare think about sending anything heavy like chicken broth to save me from my lazy-butt self (unless you hand-deliver the broth).

> I am so tired. I need coffee.

LOL. I see Lent is going well for you.

Mariah - Wow, what you wrote about your family and all the things going on! Who could imagine that that's happening in one family! Talk about "mad, passionate and extraordinary"! I do hope that everyone will be healthy and well and I'll be sending good vibes from over here.

Jen - What's a GS cookie? Of course all I am able to imagine is Gym Style Cookie.

Robin - Dang, that breakfast of yours sounds mighty good.

>Can a borrow your neat freak DH for a week or two to show my DH how it's done?

LMAO!

Terri - Thanks for the early good morning greeting! I, too, totally thought you were giving up Plies when I first read Piles. I thought, oh yeah, well, I'm not going to do squats and lunges anymore, and I can see why Terri wouldn't want to do Plies. LOL.

Shelley -

>I picked the wrong week to give up cookies

LMAO! Course, any week is the wrong week to give up cookies.

I think every one of you should go to the road trip, take photos and put them up so that I can put a face to all your names. Yeah. Everybody, go!

Diane - Have a fun trip!

All right, it's 2:40am now...I've got to get to sleep since Michele slept so well last night for me to be able to sleep well, tonight.

Night night! :* :*

Hey, just popping to say hi b/c I really doubt I post tonight... I'll check in & read up but won't be posting.

August- GS is girl scout cookies... Gym Style, LOL!

Dana- No kidding, it's only noon here & I am already worn out by meetings I've been in. Having a training to give at 1.

I think I am changing my workout plans for tonight, by 5:30 PM I am not going to have the energy to do the blast challenge in Kick Max. So, I will move that workout until next week & I think I'll do Tone It Up tonight- would do Firm It Up but since B&G Leg Blast Premix w/ floor work in on the books for tomorrow night, I think Tone It Up will be better.

Terri, Diane, Michele, August, Dana, Shelley- Hope everyone has a great day & I'll catch up with you all tomorrow evening.

After noon Haters

GS cookies - I, too, thought it was Gym Style cookies - you know, full of protein and fiberous carbs. I was hoping for a new recipe...:)

Diane-oh, girl, I hated the first trimester with all the naseau. Hopefully it will get better. Do you live in Texas? We lived in Dallas back in '92. It was when we were debt-free and child-free. We had a great time. Not to say that we don't now, but it's just different.

I've decided that I'll have to read previous posts at a later time. I'm taking a break between bids. I love being busy but sometimes it gets overwhelming.

Arista, I don't like my current website which is www.stagedwithstyle.net. I've been working on a new one. There is a website www.stonewood.com that I think has a lovely website. I'd like my new one to reflect more of an upscale staging services. I can email you a .pdf of some of my ideas if you'd be willing. Keep us posted on the job interview - good luck!

August - would you travel across the pond for the Cathe Road trip? If so, you should get top prize for travelling the farthest.

Robin: LOL on the hemerroid. I should have written junk mail paper piles. BTW, I'd give up plie squats, jumps or any other plyometric moves - UGH -I'd be a card-carrying member of the plie/plyo haters club.

Dana: I wouldn't worry about how you look when it comes to the Cathe road trip. Fitness comes in all shapes and sizes. I'd think about going but summer time is our really busy season. Actually, it seems to be starting early this year, which is good! Ditto on checking Robin's sanity for IMAX3 - more plies & plyometrics!

Shelley - has your "craptacular" day turned spectacular yet? I've given up sugar and so far, the mood is pretty good. Ask me after supper when the cravings are at its worst. BTW, how did you get that hat on the cat in your avatar?

Yesterday's workout was a good one. I did the KPC cardio along with something else I can't remember...oh, now I do...it was Jari Love's Ripped and Lean. I just did the upper body. I've got good DOMS today. So I did KPC combos along with the L&G ankle weight workout. My hip flexors are so weak, I can hardly keep my leg up! And you'd think with these chubby (oh, I need to keep it positive) strong thighs, it would be a sinch. I've got some work to do! Speaking of which, has anyone tried a figure competition? There's no way I'd compete, but I'd sure like to look like one. I'd like to find out what kind of workouts/diet they do. I'm not sure how much cardio to do or how heavy to lift since my extremeties are already chubby, oops, I mean strong...

Jen, I emailed you a bunch late last night. Have a good night at work - does that mean you took 2 days off of working out in a row? Still no Powerstrike. I'm getting impatient! But they haven't cashed my check either. I wonder if it got lost in the mail?

Okay, I've fooled around long enough. I'll check back later, haters,
Terri

Just popping back in to tell Terri - OH NO, I am not taking 2 nights off this week!

I am just doing Tone It Up tonight instead of Kick Max... I don't think Kick Max is that challenging but the blasts do take a lot of energy & since I did the cardio of KPC on Monday & doing KPC full w/o on Saturday w/ 30 minute glute work, I'm going to hold off & do Kick Max next week.

Tonight will be Tone It Up, then follow the rest of my rotation as planned... thought I was going to get through a week without having to modify anything but... i need to be better at listening to my body & not my mind.

I have been STARVING lately though... any ideas why?

Okay, back to work... BB this evening to lurk & tomorrow night to post.
