More frequent lower body workouts?

Hi fellow Cathe-ites

I am thinking about tweaking my workouts and doing lower body 3 times a week and upper just once. I thinking of doing an upper body split like Chest-Should-Tri and Back-Bi on 2 different days, then do legs 3 other days, spacing them so that I never do them on consecutive days. Right now, I am doing Upper twice and Lower twice but I realized today that I am completely satisfied with my upper body but not my lower, so maybe I should put more time in on the lower half.

Is once a week enough weight lifting to keep what I've got up top though? I sure don't want to lose any hard-fought shoulder mass.

BTW, I do a wide variety of cardio too, mostly Cathe but also swim and spin.

Do a search on "freestyle," as this type of training takes a similar approach (more frequent lower body workouts, but low or no weight, I think). I know some ladies here have had great success with this approach.
